if he's going to stay he needs this preseason sorting properly. needs a new fitness coach (needa a whole new coaching staff to be honest) but we havent had a well drilled preseason for ages and the players have looked unfit and purely prepared.

think ashley should forget any overseas friendlies outside of europe no matter what it costs us financially.

This 'we didn't strengthen' doesn't hold any sway with me at all.

We finished 5th with a group of players who all stayed at the club.

Speaking as a fan of another club which, like yourselves, was around the arse end of the league in January, the consensus amongst us was that you strengthened considerably in January and had effectively spent enough to get yourselves out of trouble. In fact, you were pretty much discounted from the relegation fight by us the day the January window closed.

The fact Pardew managed to have you not safe until a week before the end of the season is pretty poor from him.

I can see many people defending Pardew that he was unlucky with injuries. How much did our crap pre-season had to do with our injuries? For me it seems that Pardew didnt prepare our team enough for this season, and injuries hit us because our players were unfit and not ready for this season.

- He also stressed injured players back to early so they went out injured again(best example Ben Arfa).

So isnt Pardew the reason why we had so many injuries? Can we trust our/pardews physioteam, or did pardew over rule the physio team?

Looking back at our performance this season really does highlight what a poor league it's been - since we got the January signings in we've taken 20 points from 14 games, which would equate to 54 points over a season, comfortably 8th place and only 11 less than last year.

Easy to forget just how terrible we were prior to that - without those signings we would've been gone for sure.

“We’ve had to put up with some absolute rubbish.” “The people who said there were rifts were stupid.” “You can’t get draws at teams like West Brom and West Ham and a win in London against QPR with that sort of thing going on.”

yup , chuffed to get 5 points out of 9 against the mighty west ham, wba and qpr - massive teams who were battling for champions league places.

Man U have only taken 4 points from those games so far :D

5 points matches what Man City took.

Chelsea took 1 point from those 3 games.

Achieving better results than the top 3 managed is probably something to be pleased about, especially when you looked on your last legs conceding 9 at home in 2 games.

Are we honestly stuck with by far the worst manager in the premier league for another season? Say goodbye to Cabaye and prob HBA then on top of losing Colo. Ironically a summer of upheaval and instability awaits. Absolute cunts.

If Ashley and co have the same ambition as Pardew we are well and truly fucked as a football club ,our good players will be sold i.e Krul ,HBA,Cabaye to get maximum profit now.The players will not be happy with Pardews comments imho or they simply dont care and want to pick up a wage  :dave:

We finished 5th last year and the extent of Ashley's ambition meant that the best player brought in was Vurnon Anita, not even a first teamer a year later.

If Ashley is not swayed by a 5th place finish then there's not a great deal more Pardew could do to push for improvement.

It was only the threat of relegation that forced Ashley to put his hand in his pocket in January......and even then he's happy to have Shola Ameobi as the second best dedicated striker at the club.

Think this was always going to happen,  like Llambias said earlier in the season, after last season he would be allowed a bad season so with us safe they were pretty much certain to keep him.

He is under huge pressure though now,  he has a growing % of supporters turning against him and daft comments like yesterday aren't going to help his cause and if we start slowly and poorly next season he'll be gone by October.

Don't know if they bookies have prices up yet for the first PL manager to lose his job but Pardew has got to be a good bet now.
