Guest Roger Kint
My Dad has told me a few times that circa 93-95, you were only allowed one non-English player in the squad, and ours at the time was Malcolm Allen, who was Welsh. Is anything about that true? Only if you discount the games Allen, Neilson & Pav played. Or Mathie, Papavasiliou, Gilespie etc too Gillespie of course, just checked and Nielson was indeed Welsh. Great shout there. Loved those years like as I'd just started going. Was the first years i could appreciate football. First went in late 80's when i was too young to care(plus i saw us lose about 10 games in a row ) By the time i was 12+ and the promotion season it was just perfect entertainment. Absolutely loved that period, still watch the reviews on youtube all the time.

Guest
Looks like Philippe Albert might have had a drink or two too many. http://www.dhnet.be/medias/television/philippe-albert-victime-d-un-malaise-5269e7fc35703b126535b084 http://r.ldh.be/image/f3/526a0bcf35703b126535c1f3.jpg "He clearly wanted to drown his sorrows after the Anderlecht-PSG match. The match ended badly for Philippe Albert, and not just because of the 0-5 scoreline. Victim of an illness in a cafe close to the Stade Vanden Stock, he was rushed to hospital around 2am to end the night under surveillance. One witness, who was at the scene throughout said, "Philippe, one of our much-loved former players, joined our small group of regulars a bit after 1am. We soon realised he wasn't at his best. He had a glass or two in our presence and then he was in discomfort. A policeman in the area, also in the cafe, was worried for his condition, because others had died already of suffocation. Two friends offered to take Philippe Albert to the hospital themselves, but the Police Officer refused, saying that in his condition, an ambulance would be safer. Witnesses at the scene said they were "outraged" that a photo of Philippe Albert was taken of him being taken by ambulance. "We all said we wouldn't take any photos so that it wouldn't do him any harm, I don't know how this could happen", said our witness, "Afterall, everyone can have a bit too much to drink".
