Football's jumped the shark even more than The Simpsons.

I was watching Dora the Explorer with my kids once, and in one particularly bonkers episode Dora and some pals literally jumped sharks . The writers were obviously taking the piss.

CSB.

As for the footy, I am rapidly approaching the point where I want to blow it all up and start again. The more insane proposals from the FA/UEFA/FIFA the better.

UEFA approves format for new Nations League starting in 2018 #SSNHQ"

Sound's f***ing confusing:

Uefa have formally approved the new Nations League to replace most international friendlies.

The competition, featuring promotion and relegation, will first be played between September and November 2018.

The 52 countries will be split into four divisions, each featuring four groups of three or four teams.

Each team will play six games with the four group winners in the top division playing the semi-finals and final in June 2019 to determine the winner.

The best team in each of the four divisions who have not already qualified for Euro 2020 will play off in March 2020 for the final four places in the tournament, which is being played in 13 countries across Europe with the semi-finals and final at Wembley Stadium.

The Euro 2020 qualifiers will be played between March and November 2019 - after the initial Nations League competition.

In each division, four group winners are promoted (or play in the final four) and four teams are relegated for the next competition, which will be played in 2020.

There will be a winning team every odd year, while, for the 2022 World Cup, the same principles will apply but will be adapted to the number of qualification slots available and final tournament dates.

Dafuq?

So it's saying effectively the 'repechage'/second chance tournament will be played before the actual qualifiers?!?  :idiot2:

Don't really get the 'divisions' malarkey either, just seems a way to needlessly make football more complicated than it needs to be. Probably just a way to get more guaranteed fixtures between the 'top' nations in the top division to appeal to sponsors and TV companies.

Can see it getting worse than tedious after a while- the same teams playing each other if not in the 'top division group stage' then in the semi's/final every 2 years. Not of course factoring in the actual Euro's tournament itself- which is further devalued by this crap btw- and the prospect of top European teams coming up against each other at the world cup which often happens.

At least FIFA has a logic behind it's modus operandi- screw as much cash as possible out of everyone for their own personal gain- that everyone can understand. This lot (UEFA) just seem to pull random words on bits of paper out of a hat to come up with their initiatives. 'Week...of...football',  'League ...of...Nations.'

Just stop fucking with football man.  :tickedoff:

why are UEFA determined to ruin the EURO's? It was fucking perfect as it was, a high quality tournament that didn't overstay its welcome and their grand plan to improve it is let in more shit? Best as I can understand it this "league of nations" (ie a complete waste of time that will get very boring very quickly) a team from the absolute dross set of teams (ie the group San Marino etc occupy) are guaranteed to get into the euros. How the fuck does that improve a tournament supposed to be for the best teams in Europe? Fuck International Football, seriously the groups running it are incompetent, corrupt or as is most probable both.

Why's the Cup draw on a Monday night?

http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/29558089

Had forgotten about those old school FA cup draws. Bert Millichip on the home teams and Gordon McKeag on the aways iirc.

Graham Kelly looking like he was trying to stare out the cameraman at the end while waiting for it to cut back to the studio of whichever channel it was on.

Whole thing was like a funeral.

That's very similar to us like, the whole 'I support the team stuff'...people will laugh at it and say they're spoiled or whatever, but it's all relative. Arsenal should be doing better, just like we should be. They should be challenging for the league, we should be challenging full stop.

Looks like a great opportunity to establish Red Bull Bucharest.

Sports Direct FC, with all replica kits produced in local sweatshops and flogged in Rangers' club shop.
