Macclesfield fan paid £10k to have the chance to play for them in a friendly. Came on for the second half, pulled his groin after 9 minutes and had to come off.

Newcastle's newest sports bar and lounge, NINE, was officially launched with a star-studded VIP event on Thursday night.

Magpies aces Shola Ameobi, Steven Taylor and Rob Elliot attended, along with Newcastle Falcons player Chris York, with local businessmen and women invited along to sample the new venue, which opened its doors for the first time last month, and meet the stars.

The bar was launched following the refurbishment of Shearer's and celebrates the fine history of one of the most famous shirt numbers in football: the Newcastle United number nine.
