SteveMc
The gesture might not mean much in real terms to Ashley but it will sure as shite mean something to the staff if we win

Mole_Toonfan
The gesture might not mean much in real terms to Ashley but it will sure as s**** mean something to the staff if we win On the game i actually think it will be quite close due quite frankly to the return of Coloccini its no coincidence we have looked a lot more solid since return only conceding against QPR due to a penalty which wasn't even in the box. I still expect Arsenal to win sadly but i think it will be the odd goal rather than 3 or 4 like it might have seemed after the Liverpool game. SteveMc
'Kind hearted Mike Ashley' Renowned for this stuff isn't he. No doubt it's expediency on his part but the benefits for staff are obvious
Guest neesy111
Maybe if paid enough for a good manager he wouldn't have to do these stunts at the end of seasons.
Guest
He'll get the money back by gaining one or two league places rather than dropping one or two. Clever.
Guest icemanblue
Good incentive for the playing staff, to be fair. Pay something back.

I would agree but the money is going to cleaners and the stewards etc etc. Seems a horrible thing to say but i doubt the players will give two shits about that. It is possible that the staff will get the bonus win or lose. I reckon Ashley has told the players that he will pay the £1m bonus if we win, but if we do lose, its the players who have to stump up the £1m!!! Now thats what I would call an incentive! Newcastle Fan
Always loved Harps, i remember there was a time when he and Given we're being rotated in sticks and Shay was not happy with it, Harper was terrific at that time but eventually was dropped and Shay started the rest of the season. pissed me off. Given had it far too easy, sometimes Harper had played really well and would be dropped as soon as Given was fit again.
Newcastle Fan
Remember my girlfriend coming over to Newcastle earlier this season and i took her to the Norwich game, can remember myself telling her something within the lines of "He's been playing for the club before you were even born"
Foluwashola
Quite looking forward to this today. Should be a laid back atmosphere (providing the NO protest doesn't effect things) and a pleasant parting of ways with Harper. Who knows, we might even win.
