AyeDubbleYoo
What a pointless article FFS. ‘Hidden costs’ that routinely apply to everyone and always have.
Mattoon
This article says Carroll is on £25,000 a week and gets more if he plays (and more again if he scores). Not bad for a "pay as you play" wage! https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-summer-surplus-available-spend-16884404 Comments are encouraging. This was my favourite: Why should Rafa be the second highest paid manager in the premiership, he priced himself out of anybody's reach because he thinks he better than everyone else. And admirers like you feed his big ego, Rafa never had any intention of staying unless he got everything he wanted like a spoil child

Sean
Not fit till October now. Nobody could have predicted this was going to happen. Tbf he wasn't signed to play, it was more of a stunt to get fans onside, much in the way Bruce being a Geordie was a caclulated move for the same reason. They were/are both such shit moves that you have to wonder about the sanity and levels of intelligence of anyone who it got even slightly onside. There's still 40k plus turning up every week isn't there? Yep unbelievably. My comments apply to each and every one of them.

nufcjb
Saw this guy listed as 'should be available' for the Brighton game on .com. Really? Find it hard to believe he can even train let alone play in a match with how our medical staff are handling things right now.

Find it hard to believe he can even train let alone play in a match with how our medical staff are handling things right now. Chronicle had an article last week saying Carroll will make the bench v Brighton on one condition. Tho I didn’t read the story so don’t know what the condition was

Stifler
A Spurs fan at work was telling me today about how he’s back for the weekend. I told him that I don’t think he’ll ever play for us, I really don’t think he will.

ExiledGeordie
He’ll probably make it on the pitch for a cameo appearance at some point but it’ll be short lived and he’ll have to be subbed off injured.

TBG
He's probably looked sharp in training but Bruce won't want to throw him in at the deep end. He'll give him a few more weeks of training under his belt, ready to come on against United, guns blazing like a cat amongst the pigeons
Raconteur
A poll on how many minutes he will/won't play would be interesting? Perhaps in ninety minute bands, with zero and perhaps five whole matches as outside markers?

It keeps the mong element happy and saved him from spending money on a proper signing.
