ads
He is a better manager than the dush bag we have as manager. Anyone who are laughing at them should see our situation first and laugh hard. We've been doing that for years...

Minhosa
In fairness to them, at least they've moved forward quickly with a replacement in mind. Advocaat may be a total cock up of an appointment but he's got some pedigree and experience.
sempuki
We've got the biggest dick already in Carver to be fair.
Wallace
Louise Taylor saying that McLaren is their number one choice to take over in the Summer. I wonder if he will end up with a choice between us and the Mackems in which case, he is more likely to go there - better working conditions and they will probably pay him loads more. We will step aside and refuse to get into a bidding war.

Nobody
They'll go down now imo. The wrong appointment for the situation they are in. If you look at the teams who appoint managers and get out you're looking at the likes of Allardcye/Pulis/Sherwoord. Motivators who know the league. I can't see him doing well at all, been out of club football for ages. He will only need to do marginally better than the ultra shit Poyet. They'll stay up. Stifler
One point above Burnley who look like they can get out of it. Squad full of players who have largely given up/are shit. Not sure myself. If they lose the derby they are done imo. If they lose the derby then they are down, the trouble is though that we all know that they will win it. ExiledGeordie
They'll do enough but just. Absolutely no doubt they'll roll us over anyway so that's 3 points for starters.

Guest H09
Advocaat obviously thinks if he keeps them up he will have a chance of getting the Newcastle job
hithere
An American owner needs a new coach to save his club from relegation. He appoints a disinterested, semi-retired foreigner with an abrasive militaristic personality to manage the club's ill-fitted group of mercenaries and cokeheads. Yep
Guest DebuchyAndTheBeast
At this point in the season tactics are meaningless. It's about man management : see Di Canio, Pooyet, Pardew, maybe Sherwood
Guest TruToon94
So the Mackems despite actually being involved in relegation are STILL better run than us, seemingly having a plan!
AyeDubbleYoo
Well we've always know they're better run than us. Almost everyone is.
Teasy
In a way like, yet they're still down below us every season so they can't be that well run.
ilikenewcastle
I'm trying to remain optimistic. The managers who've rescued them lately have been hungry, young, energetic managers. Dick was great in his day but is definitely past his best, hopefully he just sees this as an easy payday. Let's just pray Burnley can do their bit. afar
I think that's a good appointment by the mackems, he's a name and that's something that their players will respond to, certainly in the short term, so it pretty much guarantees them another derby win. Win a couple more and they will probably be safe. I don't believe the bottom three as of today will be any different to the bottom three come the end of the season. Tough to call how this will pan out, but I don't think giving it him until the end of the season will help. He doesn't know the league, or indeed his players, yet he has to hit the ground running. On top of that, there's nothing much in it for him whether they stay up or go down. He's a decent manager, but I don't think he will be able to turn their horrendous form around. Just having a different manager might get them putting more effort into their game. I'm not sure it will make any difference but probably worth a try.
