It didn't save him and it won't save Allardyce in the end, because they're completely uninspiring characters with teams that play dire football. Safe? No. Didn't get rid when we did and we were down. So if Sunderland follow their normal pattern of bringing in a manager to save them from relegation when the previous saviour starts failing, Allardyce will be ready to step in.
