BlueStar
Yeah but if they stayed up and a team around them went down would be pretty harsh IMO If it's by that point they got from Southampton I could see a West Ham/Sheffield United situation. That might be fun.
Si
Sounds like they need to be on a register if they have fielded an ineligible Dong.
BlueStar
Local papers of other relegation candidates picking up on it from that angle. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/cardiff-city-swansea-city-relegation-6916834
David Icke - Son of God
Guaranteed they'll stay up by one point now.
Dokko
Premier league will be forced in to doing something, even if it is to remove them of that one point thry gained. Seems fair enough since that is what happened with other clubs. Stops any potential court cases against the league.

Skeletor
Should have their Wembo trip wiped from their memories, marra.
Guest snoopythewriter
Since you can't replay the entire League Cup, they should be deducted 3 points for every League Cup game that they won. 15 point deduction. Sorted.
WarrenBartonCentrePartin
Patiently waiting for Scudamore to make an example of them, as like us they don't contribute to the "brand".
Guest
Give their runners-up medals to MK Dons. Karma for 1990 as well.
BlueStar
You can say it's only one point and a doomed cup run, but surely having a player on the pitch you shouldn't have may have improved your goal difference even by playing in games you lost? cp40
This could well be my favourite relegation of theirs tbh to think they decided after our 1 relegation we were the new yoyo club.
cp40
has there been any explanation offered as to why they were not deducted points?
Dokko
Surely the FA will have loads of pressure on the, to act from other clubs down there, and rightly so.
Disco
This could well be my favourite relegation of theirs tbh Nah. Them and Boro getting relegation confirmed whilst our players celebrated qualifying for the CL on their lap of honour was truly sublime.
WarrenBartonCentrePartin
What's utterly brilliant about it all too is that it was someone as s*** as Ji that landed them in the clag. The game at Palace where he completely bottled that header from about 6 yards out, man.
David Icke - Son of God
has there been any explanation offered as to why they were not deducted points? There seems to be some suggestion that the Premier League hadn't updated their website, however that's not the proper route by which to check. The funny thing is that while Poyet was Brighton manager he threw a massive fucking hissy fit because Hartlepool mistakenly played an ineligible player against them. Pools were deducted three points. Big Geordie
FA surely have to take more action over this - fining them under the radar achieves what exactly?
Guest neesy111
I can see a few teams taking legal action over this. Usually in the lower leagues this is a points deduction.
midds
If they gained a point in a game in which they fielded an ineligible player then it should be deducted. Survival may come down to a point here or there and it'll get pretty fucking messy if they're level with 17th come the final day. It'll run and run. Dokko
How can a governing body demand players, agents, clubs etc be transparent of cheating, bungs, match fixing then they go and brush one of their own rules under the carpet like this? It's disgraceful.
AyeDubbleYoo
Seems extremely dodgy that this was done underhand. With the money involved in survival nowadays, you would think their opponents would be looking very closely at the legal aspect.
Beren
No faith in the FA to do the right thing in terms of consistency and dock them a point. Complete joke of a governing body. So glad they got outcorrupted by Fifa on the World Cup hosting rights palava.
oldtype
I guess I could get my wish of a Korean sending Sunderland down in a roundabout way. Realistically the FA aren't going to go back on something that's already been decided though.
