Deuce
He's not a bad player. He's an average one. Has no real stand out qualities but is an ok player overall. More use than Shola certainly but definitely overrated by some due to his nationality. And underrated by some due to his nationality (and choice of club). It's impossible for many Toon fans to be objective when it comes to Sunderland (and American players).
Incognito
It's most important for me that he continue to play at a high level for the national team. So whatever he needs to do at Sunderland to stay in good form, so be it. Despite not scoring yet in league play, he's still playing well for club and country. In which case you need to follow another team.

ponsaelius
Find it pretty discomforting that there are fans of NUFC who actively want an SAFC player to do well (and thus secure them points and progress as a team). Quit with the endless patriotism for 5 seconds FFS.

Ashley17
Reminds me of when that Nicky chap posted on here in delight when Stevenage beat us, even though he was a Newcastle fan for 364 days of the year. Why the fuck would you do that?
Fenham Mag
Exactly, you don't see us wanting Colback to do well because he's a Geordie. You've qualified for the WC, that's the best you can hope for really, he's got you there, you can now hate him.

Skeletor
It would make more sense if you were a Spaniard or some other nationality that has a team capable of winning the world cup. USA have no chance of winning so even if he had a great season you'd still have a mediocre world cup as always.

Why do you still support them? Because that's what fans do. Club fortunes go up and down and clubs can decide their own fate with ambition and money. With a national team it's pot luck. You either have a good pool of players or you don't. Plus clubs compete season after season unlike national teams which compete once in a blue moon. ponsaelius
Their transfer window was pretty shit. 3 of their 4 best players left. Mignolet wasn't replaced (Westwood is playing and Mannone is shite), Rose was replaced by Dossena (LOL) but Colback is playing there at the moment and Sessegnon has been replaced by a couple of goalshy forwards who don't offer the same kind of ability that he had. Then the rest of the squad has been filled with a plethora of random dross and youngsters who will probably never settle or gel into a team.
Dokko
Sess likely to make his WBA debut against them then? Guess he has a point to prove to PDC, should make for good viewing.
