Stifler
Well I can't see him staying at QPR unless he's got absolutely no interest in playing in the Euro's. What London team are going to come in for him? West Ham.

What London team are going to come in for him? West Ham. West Ham aren't exactly short on strikers mind; Sakho, Valencia, Carroll, Zarate, Jelavic off the top of my head. Palace will be the one surely.

Shearergol
I'm still convinced we will spend £25million + in January We won't, and even if we did it wouldn't be enough. We need 4 £10m players. £25m gets next to nothing these days.

Dave
After Arsenal there are 9 points and a place in the fourth round of the FA Cup up for grabs in January. Wonder how many we'll toss away before we make any meaningful changes to the squad. From the BBC interview with McClaren: Q. It is of course only the second of January, is there anything imminent that you need to tell us? A. Absolutely not, no! It's only the first day in and there are a few weeks to go, we're doing our business nice and quietly behind the scenes. If anything happens I suppose you'll be the last to know. Ronaldo
Within 10 seconds of Lowes asking him about the obvious need for a CF he was mumbling on about 'the attitude of the players'.

Stifler
As if any of that means anything. Everyone knows what this club is like, they don't say anything until a few hours after we have signed someone. I'm not saying that means we have someone in for medical now, just saying that what the club says regarding transfer to the media means fuck all, they will do what they want and when they want and won't tell them a fucking thing. Mole_Toonfan
Wouldn't even be surprised if we signed the players people wanted and we were still utter shite tbh. Not that it means anything as we won't bother to buy anyone regardless.

sbnufc
1. CF 2. CM 3. CB 4. LB Fucking hell. I agree. But... we sign a CM and LB. Do you see McClaren dropping Colback and Dummett? They're both the worst players in our line up as of now, but I just can't see them being dropped Especially Colback. Too much is made of us needing "english players". The fact they're both geordies makes them even less droppable
The College Dropout
the more players that come in the harder it is for them to settle into the team. i'd take 2 quality signings happily.

BONTEMPI
Goalscorer and a left back are vital. Talk of 4/5 signings is pie in the sky stuff. We had that when we were in a better position points wise, when Sissoko and co came in.

Altamullan
1. CF 2. CM 3. CB 4. LB f***ing hell. Yep, but I would prioritise in this order: CB,CF,CM,LB. Can't help thinking I'm in LA-LA land for continuing with this trian of thought as if it were a serious option, but I suspect with the contractual status of CBs, and visibility of our frailities (though not so much in last couple of matches) this would be the strongest probability. Who though? Fuck knows. Gutted at time, and not changed my mind, re Van Dijk; agree re common take on Shawcross, but don't know enough to spot more available play-alike-ees. At CF, Austin seems a safe bet, enough self-belief to be confident he can continue on the big stage, enough of a track record to make this seem plausible/rather than delusional. I would be delighted to tempt Shelvey from Swans; not arsed what some of their fans say, he has all the attributes to be sensational. He needs to have a team built around him, his ego stroked, and he can give us the drive, steel, and range of passing to make the most of our other decent midfielders. The Russian guy (who looks like Shane MacGowan...Dzagev?) seems like a Cabaye-mould player; which, as for most, is a major compliment. Would, on this Dennis (not at all) Wise, basis settle for him instead. Suspect we have enough cover at LB (Haidara, Mbabu, Colback & Dummet) to let this be for now. However, personally I would love to see Enrique play there (apparently available) with Janmaat on other side.
sbnufc
With the January window now officially open, the rumour mill is well and truly in full swing. A report by Luke Edwards of the Telegraph has emerged, and it lists Newcastle’s main January targets, as well as the players that may leave the club this month. It is believed that stubborn owner Mike Ashley has provided the club with £15m to spend, and that he wants several unwanted players to be sold before any reinforcements are brought in. The Telegraph say that the Magpies are targeting a number of British players, such as Charlie Austin, Andros Townsend and Patrick Bamford. Experienced Hull City captain Michael Dawson could also be on his way to Tyneside, in what would be shock move considering United’s transfer policy. It is also stated by Edwards that Moussa Sissoko could leave for a Champions League club, and also that Ayoze Perez is attracting interest from all across England. The likes of Mike Williamson, Yoan Gouffran and Sylvain Marveaux are all deemed surplus to requirements at the club. Newcastle currently sit in a dangerous 18th position, with the gap between them and survival increasing each week that goes by. If the Toon are to maintain their Premier League status, then they’ll need to spend serious money in this window. http://readnewcastle.com/2016/01/02/newcastles-january-transfer-targets-revealed/
