Wallace
Unless the deal was going ahead, I would expect us to deny it. Can't let other clubs know we have money to spend - they might ask for a bigger fee.

Chris Banaloona
Even if it were true (nah), why the hell would he want to come here? Exactly why they have bid for him. So they can say they tried. "January is a hard market" blah blah blah.... I hope we go down.

WarrenBartonCentrePartin
Most of the french media who are reporting it are usually reliable tbh. I believe we offered it, i also believe that we knew that it wouldn't be successful. Cringeworthy watching the likes of Ryder peddle articles today in which he linked to reports in France in an attempt to try and prove they hadn't made it up. Luke Edwards saw right through it, though.
nufc4eva
Our only signing will be Fer Ken nee wan . Leave all hope of a sensible club at the door as we slip through the trap door into oblivion, however this time there won't be a comeback. Too busy fucking about trying to sign players from abroad just spend us monopoly money on Austin and be done with it

St1pe
I don't understand the logic if the Bas Dost rumour is even remotely true with him being incredibly similar in style to Mitrovic. It wouldn't make any sense.

It wouldn't make any sense. The logic being we were linked in the summer and are after a striker. Nice easy story to fill space without actually doing any journalism

vicente_14
Surely before any bid is made for Lacazette we would have spoken to his agent/people to establish if he would be interested in joining? Knowing upfront he wouldn't want to come to us, we wouldn't then make a bid. Either his agent trying to force a move elsewhere and name dropping us or more bullshit from us so we can claim to have tried but failed to get it over the line. BeloEmre
The French media said the same about Thauvin in the summer. "Don't want to move, don't want to sign for Newcastle" ect ect.

Mole_Toonfan
Or we know he isn't interested and made an offer for a classic "we tried " moment which is a lot more likely. Especially when it's for a striker.
