Skeletor
Probably made up lazy rumours, but we're linked with Shaqiri. (italian rumours, i know) http://0.media.dorkly.cvcdn.com/77/37/c7358e161859b0a65c09fef0e3996c13.gif

Mole_Toonfan
Man, we've fallen so far it might sound arrogant to say we're a bigger club historically than Stoke I know it's ridiculous, didn't want to sound like a dick though. In general it's not a contest tbh.

STM
I still think we will sign Austin. Have no idea why but it's clear we are playing the long game with QPR. Hopefully the rumours of Vuckic the other way we're true.

Skeletor
Now that we have Mitrovic we can afford to play the long game with QPR for Austin. QPR have no leverage now.
Mole_Toonfan
I just struggle to see how Austin makes sense with Mitrovic if we are playing one upfront, one of them will be on the bench and i can't see us spending above 10m on a bench player.
STM
Absolutely. I think if we got 6 or 7m for Cisse we would push Austin through. I can only see Turkish/Chinese/Middle East sides paying much for Cisse though, so who knows.
AyeDubbleYoo
I would rather keep Cisse and spend the money elsewhere. If money's no object, aye gan wild.

I think everyone would agree that another centre half or winger are priorities but that shouldn't stop us doing other business. Perhaps we might have those positions sorted before the Austin situation plays out.
AyeDubbleYoo
Aye, might work out. TBH our striking position is going to be interesting even with just Cisse and Mitrovic to choose from.

Mole_Toonfan
Tbh i think i'd prefer we looked at someone like Berahinho, not a clue what WBA would want mind but the ability to play off the wings and upfront with some pace intrigues me more than having another no 9. AyeDubbleYoo
A wide forward with decent creativity would be the ideal IMO. A good Gouffran, if you will.
STM
Perhaps Aarons form might change their minds on a winger. It would leave us with Aarons and Cabella with Sissoko and Perez as back up options on the wings. Depending on your views on Sissoko out wide. Chris_R
Cisse Mitrovic Shaqiri De Jong Aarons Wijnaldum Haidara Mbemba Coloccini Janmaat Krul Obviously it's a massive 'if', but that team could do a hell of a lot of damage. Or even stick Cabella out on the left if he sorts his game out under McClaren.
Twinport53
Cabella is not, has not, and will not be an effective winger like
Mole_Toonfan
He was in France but i suppose that's irrelevant considering Gouffran was
STM
Cabella is not, has not, and will not be an effective winger like Might as well be sold then because he's not getting in a central role over Sissoko, De Jong, Wijnaldum and Perez.
Chris_R
Yep, he's got no chance in the middle now. Maybe he could be some kind of wide forward if we go 4-3-3, but I can't see that happening because we'll not bench one of Cisse or Mitrovic (or Austin if our continued interest is true) and even if we did, 4-3-3 would provide rubbish service for Mitrovic who we've just splashed out loads on. If Cabella can't / won't play out wide, there's nowhere for him IMO.
Twinport53
He played as a number 10 in France for the majority of the 2 seasons before we signed him. I think he is totalled wasted on the wing, and his chances of playing centrally are diminishing with every signing we make. I would prefer him behind the striker over De Jong if possible. Siem literally doesn't move, and unless he can chip in with around 10 goals a season, I think he will hinder our play. Like Nolan did when he wasn't scoring. Atleast Cabella offers movement, passing and creativity when playing.
ponsaelius
I agree on De Jong a bit, he seems very static and too upright for a #10. Not to write him off as he needs to get back up to speed but I'm not sure.

TRon
Cabella is not, has not, and will not be an effective winger like He's not, but he can actually cross a decent ball if he can be persuaded to release it early rather than indulge in step overs and feints. He's got the tools, just not the brain.
