And forgetting Aaron's would have to agree to go there. Don't see that happening myself

He seems happy here looking at his latest tweet. There must be a contract announcement soon surely either way.

Aye looks promising tbf. I would imagine a lot of it has to do with ridding the club of Carver, Stone et al and signing players like Wijnaldum.

Newcastle want to manage Toney’s development carefully after the club vowed to learn lessons from the way that Adam Armstrong struggled to progress at the end of last season.

Pretty difficult to progress when the best coach in the Premier League decides to either leave you on the bench or bring you on for the last 5 minutes when you're losing.

Not that it's even feasible, but I've always thought Adebayor is the perfect player to be on a bare bones weekly salary, but with huge bonus incentives for goals and assists. Always seemed to turn it on when playing for a contract, but then goes off the boil once he has it.

He is a class player, just doesn't seem to have enough self-motivation to harness his talent each week like a top pro should.

Even at 31 he could be a powerhouse still up front if he could driven to perform, if we could get him on cheap wages he'd be worth a punt on a year deal with option to extend.

No way we break our Ashley spending on striker record then bench the kid in order to play Adebayour. If he was coming cheap as backup to Mitrovic then aye but he'll not be cheap and would want to be first choice.

Prefer to persevere with Mitrovic this season and hope he hits his stride.
