The Managerial Merry Go Round™ - Ancelotti to Brazil

Recommended Posts

I’ve seen lots of the ‘Hodgson has never relegated anyone’ patter floating about - which seems to suppose that the stain of relegation only applies to the person in charge on the last day of the season.  Footballing musical chairs.

Hodgson’s piss poor performance and signings was a key factor in Blackburn being relegated in ‘99 - but he did get sacked just before Xmas with them right in the shite, so apparently his hands are clean.

Everton are doing their best to implode - that’s a bizarre appointment if it happens.  Looking like a great idea, not getting behind Rafa.  Everton are the 2020s Leeds - looking increasingly like they might  really ‘do a Leeds’ at present.

Biggest surprise drop since the PL breakaway - probably since Man Utd in the ‘70s.  Everton hasn’t been relegated in over 70 years.

Would say they would be bigger club to drop - especially when factoring in recency bias and the sheer amount of money in the PL now, the amount of money they've spent in last few years, and the levels of investment still available through them with Morishiri. They should be nowhere near the bottom of the league with the amount of money they are spending.

Can't see Everton getting relegated to be honest. Norwich, Watford, along with us are in far worse states; and I think Brentford and one of Palace/Leeds will get sucked into the bottom before the 30 game mark.

Everton in the second division, unlike Newcastle, Villa, Chelsea, Man City or Leeds, is something which hasn’t happened in most of our lifetimes.  They’re a genuine aristocrat of English football - even during a fallow period like this one, they’re rarely in danger of dropping down a division.  Arsenal, Man Utd & Liverpool are the only clubs where relegation would be as historically momentous, IMO.

Where's the media's outcry of Everton fans' treatment of Perreira and Benitez?

They only expect the best though, not like our sicko fans who just want to not get relegated

State of them Everton fans [emoji38] protesting against the board that have spent an absolute fortune over the last few years .

On shite players though

Surely we aren't in any position to criticise other fans protesting against their owners

We've done nothing like protesting outside of managers homes or spray painting messages before they're even employed.

Hell, we gave the likes of Bruce/McLaren etc. a fair crack at the job. And yet the media coverage of Everton so far seems to be very sympathetic in its nature.

Bunch of cunts, all of them

Think we’ve got every right to point out the double standards after the majority of the media and other club’s fans (Everton included) harp on about our unrealistic expectations when we were criticising Ashley.

Fuck them. Nobody showed us any sympathy, still have people telling us every day how wrong we were.

Absolutely spot on. If we'd done anything of the same ilk, certain media outlets would have had a field day.
