But if they all hated him as much as reported, they wouldn’t be falling over themselves to back him. They have no reason to. Players also usually love a cheeky Instagram jibe after a sacking too. Deuce
Mourinho needs a team he can craft in his own image, a team in which he’s essentially the only personality. I think he and Rafa are similar in that way, though they go about it in different ways. As players become bigger personalities and “brands” themselves, someone like Mourinho will struggle to impose his will. He’d be a tremendous hire for a club like us (under a different owner). He’s an asshole, but he’s still one of the brilliant minds in the game. Edited April 28, 2021 by Tomato Deuce

Bang on RE the personality thing, I think he also needs to be at a club where the fans would be right behind him over the players if you like, like with Rafa here, and I think he’d get that at NUFC easily. I do think he needs some time out of the game though.

Depends on the choices they make imo. There are other good managers out there Allegri and Rafa to name a couple. They maybe in a similar position to us after Sir Bobby left us. if Arsenal, are bought and get their act together, and obviously with Leicester being very well ran and Wet Ham doing well and potentially us under the Saudi’s, it could be some time before they qualify for the champions league again. Agree, he even mentioned he would fancy a project reviving a big name club which had fallen from previous heights, I think he mentioned us and Villa by name. toon25
Southgate going there would be a laugh. He’s absolutely shite.
Foluwashola
Unless he has a woeful Euros and forced out Southgate would be mental to leave the England gig. Got it good. Saying that I've nee idea when his contract ends.
Dr Jinx
Benitez would be stupid to go there. Things are not good off the pitch which ultimately means they won’t be good on the pitch either. They are massively in debt. Huge constraints over improving the squad, can they even keep hold of their better players at this stage? That negativity seeps into the dressing room. There’s fuck all a manager can do about it when that rot sets in which I believe has started. Harry Kane wouldn’t want to waste much more time there. As for Mourinho, he needs to take a proper break from the game, maybe a year or two. He seems to have lost his way a bit. His next move is critical, a bit like Benitez really. Kimbo
Rafa's reputation is weirdly low, he just seems very unpopular outside of the clubs he has managed. When his name comes up in regard to the Spurs job he is dismissed with no discussion, when really they should be falling over themselves to hire him. Coming here and going to China probably didn't do wonders for his reputation as a top club manager (not that Spurs are a top club, they're certainly not).
