Tiresias Posted April 6, 2023 Share Posted April 6, 2023 (edited) It is daft but it's a free hit for Lampard to rebuild his reputation isn't it, he either does ok, which may persuade a minnow of a club to take a chance on him, he does terribly, in which case he's probably no worse off than now when he's been binned off as a premier league coach, or he wins the champions league by fluke (chelsea fucking love doing that don't they?) in which case he will inevitably get given the job at chelsea then get a massive payoff in october when reality has sunk in that he's not good enough. For chelsea guess appeals to the fans to buy in, he'll be probably ok at motivating dressing room but how he's going to parse the enourmous squad. Tactically he will be hopeless but that may be a relief from Potter's overthinking. I predict he will get some results but lose the big games badly, everyone will shrug and proper operator will come in in summer despite calls from media shouting for him to be given the job permanently for no reason. Boehly may relent, he does seem an idiot. There is clearly decent coach willing to jump on board late season, what is in it for them? Another two months out of work isn't going to diminish their reputation too much but two months crashing and burning in a dumpster fire may do.
