The Managerial Merry Go Round™ - Postecoglu told to rack off by Spurs

Recommended Posts

I don't think Vieira is incredible or anything, but the manager doesn't seem like the problem with Palace to me, with their squad I wouldn't expect them to be much higher than where they are with the way this season's panned out. It's not like they were in a terrible position either, every team below Villa's in exactly the same situation and really it's only West Ham, Leicester, and possibly Wolves where you can say they should definitely be doing better with the players they have.

They're 12th so normally, you'd think no need to do anything rash - how many seasons in the last 20 years have you and us had where we'd take being mid table?

The difference is that this year's table is insane - 4 points between 12th and 20th.

Fuck me, that's got to be stressful for the nine clubs involved in that.

To me this is all the more reason not to make any rash decisions. I'm not sure what they're expecting Hodgson to do that they weren't already doing.

Their run of games since January has been extremely unforgiving: Spurs, Chelsea, Man United, Us, Man United, Brighton, Brentford, Liverpool, Villa, Man City, Brighton, Arsenal. There's not a single match there where I'd expect them to pick up points, yet they drew with Man United, Us, Brighton, Brentford, and Liverpool and even through those matches are sitting top of that 12th to 20th clusterfuck.

Total meh. Probs keep them up, it’s his boyhood club. Crack on tbh. Good luck to him.

Owl will use his trademark tactic, ”parking the bus” between penalty area and midfield. Maybe those 0-0, 1-1 and 1-0 results are enough for survival…

Imagine going from a young up and coming coach with new ideas and an eye on the best way to progress your career with the support of sport science etc, to someone's grandad who just smiles at you and talks about Scandinavian in the 80's.

Your development will go backwards and the place will start to smell of piss.

I've slagged Spurs off all season because they're absolutely shit to watch, have been propped up by Kane, and shouldn't be anywhere near 4th, but it is still canny mad that a team sat in 4th is potentially about to sack its manager and is deemed to be in a kind of crisis with no one really thinking that's unusual.

 Especially as no one particularly expects Spurs to go on a title charge.

I think it's just because Conte himself has imploded. If it were a manager just going about his job without ranting every week I imagine everyone would just be saying 'oh there's Spurs just toddling along as ever'.

Think Hodgson might demotivate the dressing room.

A dressing room that already looks demotivated.

So nice to be viewing this sort of thing from a distance :D

Is it written somewhere that they must only appoint ex-Chelsea managers?

Made even funnier given how much they dislike each other.

Even though they're a big club they're relative bottom feeders. To quote Dinho they're massive Beta Cucks.
