I agree. Surely under those circumstances it’s your time to really show how good you are not ask to leave before the ship might sink. His behaviour with the Spanish national job/Real Madrid left a lot to be desired also.

What was wrong with wanting to secure a job with his contract with Spain ending after the tournament?

Lots of other international managers have done the same including SBR in 1990.

He's done well but I imagine their mad owners were expecting playoffs as a minimum

I bet they spent a chunk on getting Carvalho on loan in the winter

Aye they’re one of the worst in the league for transfers/wages to income I remember reading. He’ll walk into another Championship job. Sunderland could do a lot worse even if he’d be despised from the off.

Be a yuge fan if Hull got Fatih Terim or some other daft lad in.

They extended his contract in December so it's very bizarre. Either someone is waiting in the wings who is too good to miss out on, or it's just another case of there being an insane EFL board who know nothing about football.

Might be the most bizarre managerial announcement ive seen

Good appointment by Gillingham by all accounts. Did very well at Cambridge.

Came in to say the same thing. Rosenior looks a very competent manager at that level. Sunderland need to be rethinking their appointment based on the news today. Hopefully they'll will still go for.

Is this stuff done for jokes? Got no idea if I’m watching something serious or something that’s taking the piss out of these announcements

Would the contract extension come with a clause which sees reduced compo if not making play offs?

I still don't even know who it is after watching.

Got a fair few mates who support Cambridge. He started really well and then went on some horrendous runs and was lucky not to get relegated.

I don’t think they have much dough, mind and they all still like the bloke.

Steve Cooper to Hull

Not looked at it in much detail. But seems mad for them to sack Rosenoir and most Hull fans on Twitter seemed against him getting the boot.

If they're getting Cooper then you can at least see the logic in removing Rosenior; rather than it just being a case of another club beholden to random mental decisions made by owner.

Beat us tbf.

Gillingham are one of those clubs I’ve got a hugely disproportionate hatred towards. The couple who used to sit behind me at SJP from years were from there and used to annoy me to fuck with their no nowt opinions plus Peter Taylor and Legohead Hessanthaler being two of the most tryhard cunts about. Awful club, awful place.

Petty? Me, no not for me Clive, vindicated.
