What a night for @Disco

Newcastle win, Frank on the brink, Spurs lose.

If he's had a slap up meal and booked a holiday it's basically a perfect day.

Mackems too.

I’m actually on holiday at the moment, so aye, not a bad set of results to wake up too.

With football clubs now been ran by DOFs I think its massively negligent to sack a manager with nobody lined up to replace them, why would you hamstring yourself like that ?

These guys are supposed to be the " Big picture executives" that provide the direction for the club, the stuff going on at Man Utd just now is embarrassing.

@Froggy

Who you want as full-time caretaker until the end of the season then?

(aware you've probably answered this a bunch of times in various threads, but I can't be arsed reading through the lot, so yeah..)

OGS would be just what they need, at least in the short term, as they need to believe in themselves and making players believe they're unbeatable is essentially 90% of what his managerial style equates to. Given what we know of the time since they sacked him, I think it's also quite fair to say that sacking him was a big mistake.

Didn’t OGS do really well until the club pushed the Ronaldo re-signing on him?

He did. That signing was the turning point for them towards negativity, really. Which makes total sense for those familiar with OGS as a manager and how his "main ability" in the role essentially is building team spirit and confidence among players, so throwing a "fuck the team, I'm the hype" massive cunt mentality into the mix wouldn't exactly go well.

These clubs are effectively replacing people who know what they're doing with guys playing Football Manager.

So what this shows is OGS’s sacking directly led to us improving and Leicester being relegated.

It'll be him or Carrick, fwiw. Or a combination where OGS will be hired as "Head Coach" and Carrick as "Assistant Head Coach". The club and OGS agreed personal terms during a meeting last night between Jason Wilcox, OGS and his agent. Final decision apparently not expected until after the weekend due to OGS traveling from Manchester to Molde early this morning to attend Åge Hareide's funeral.

Nothing not already reported by media everywhere, mind you

From what I hear it definitely won't be both of them. One or the other. Ole knows he will never get it permanently. Carrick would have the hope that if he does well he'd be given a shot.

Ole is the safer choice and the more popular choice with fans by some distance.

He did extremely well and just had a bad patch of around 7 games where we lost badly to Liverpool, City, Villa and Watford (the final nail in the coffin).

Even at that, we were 7th when he was sacked but since he had finished 3rd then 2nd he was almost a victim of his own success as the natural progression in expectation was a title challenge.

I get your recent managers mixed up.  Was it OGS or Ten Hag who went through a long winning streak, that was totally unsustainable and relied heavily on worldies and riding their luck at the other end?  I feel like that was Ten Hag.

Didn't OGS set his team up to play on the counter and was good at it.  Then it all changed when the diva came back?
