@NUFCDoog you'd have thought that he'd wait until the end of the season and have better options than Palace.

Aye, could have a year out of the game and I'd wager he'd still have much better options than bloody Palace! It's madness.

It’s a bit hypocritical that we constantly lament the best players and coaches always choosing the cartel clubs, and then feign outrage when a guy slated for a cartel club gig instead chooses someone like Palace.

Not outraged. Just seems like an odd/poor move for him. If we sack Eddie I'd like him here.

Carrick is being recommended for the Man Utd job by "executives"

Quote

Manchester United’s football leaders are set to recommend Michael Carrick be offered the permanent head coach role during an executive committee meeting this week.

Chief executive Omar Berrada and director of football Jason Wilcox feel Carrick is the right man to lead United into next season, and are ready to make the proposal to Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Class, best news I’ve read in a while. Can’t wait for the Man U crash and burn cycle to continue

Unlimited resources means the nonsense they do is never impactful and this is somehow fair.

Who would you rather have ?

I like idea of Carrick but I watch the games and I think we've rode our luck an awful lot.

The performances under Amorim were miles better, but the results were poor. Carrick is winning games we don't really deserve to be winning.

Could be wrong but I'm uneasy with it as it stands.

I'm delighted. It's a sign that the people running the club either a) Don't care or b) Don't really understand what they're doing. I've spoke with a few Man Utd supporters this season and each one of them has told me pretty much what Froggy has said above.

This is the guy who wasn't good enough for Boro just last season. Rob Edwards & then Kim Hellberg have come in and they've gone from 10th to 5th. I know it's nowhere near as black and white as that, but this is just another example of a football manager failing up because someone is being sentimental rather than using their brain.

This confirmed? Why do you lot never learn? Could have Alonso and you've lumped for Carrick

I really don't like the "will you ever learn" approach mind. People reference Ole like he wasn't a success. Third, second and a Europa League final in two full seasons should not be looked at negatively IMO.

Ole's football was miles better than Carricks.

Thought you were a man united fan? Success is now defined in this way for you now?

With the benefit of hindsight, he was successful aye.

He seems to be the butt of certain jokes for opposition fans, but if you ask any Man United fan when they were at their happiest since Fergie, the vast majority will say the Ole era. That includes the periods where we won trophies with Jose and Ten Hag.

If Carricks interim role was mean to serve as an audition, then he has obviously passed. He won't get the same patience as other managers though. This is his second interim stint and he's had a better structure in place than most of the others and much better players to work with as well.

Itll be interesting, but I don't see him being a success. Hope I'm wrong.
