The College Dropout
Bruce is the best of the PFM and would be a good appointment for Villa. Heck prior to Rafa I would have had him here (especially for a promotion push). His side's tend to play above average football and he doesn't fill his teams full of cloggers either, but he seemingly can't develop anything tangible over a sustained period with a team or certain players. Hull were mad to get rid or allow him to leave, he's a mini legend there and he was Sunderland's best manager since Reid. He's a good one for a promotion push and the best Villa could look to get apart from Allardyce. If PFM = British manager that isn't "new school" (excludng Brendan, Warburton & Howe). Allardyce & Pulis are the cream. For a time Redknapp was a very handy PL manager. Dyche looks promising.

samptime29
Bruce is a pretty decent manager for Championship team tbf. They've had such a bad start though. Tough job.

Teasy
Better than Di Matteo (not saying much there like). But they better have a plan for who to replace him with if he ever gets them promoted. Absolutely rotten manager outside of the Championship.
maybe_next_year
They'll be challenging for the title come May. They're 11 points off Brighton, 12 off us, 13 off Norwich, 15 off Huddersfield. theres no way all 4 drop enough points between now and May for Villa to be challenging for the title . Pilko
It'll take Bruce a month or so to get them playing the way he wants. By then, they'll probably be trying for a play off place.
afar
They'll be challenging for the title come May. He just made the playoffs with probably a better equipped Hull side in a weaker division last season. I'm still to be convinced he'll be the silver bullet to get them up this season, they've got a lot of work to do to make the playoff, I don't think they have a chance in hell of making automatic. Wallsendmag
Wouldn't wish Steve McClaren on any club with the exception of Sunderland.
