Not sure which 3 CBs will start either, and whether it'll be Henderson at RW again (not so good against potentially Remy, is it? but I think Rodgers will persist to have 2 up to to isolate Suarez and Sturridge with MYM and Saylor/Mike, so one of Debuchy/Santon will have to stay back and not venture forward too much. The Geordies will be seeking redemption against Brendan Rodgers side, after their collapse in a 6-0 thrashing at St James' Park six months ago came close to triggering a crisis on Tyneside. Pardew is convinced there will be no repeat of that result because his squad is "in a different place completely" and carrying a greater goal threat, that during that encounter in April. But Newcastle will be without skipper and centre-back Fabricio Coloccini, who has a groin injury. Mapou Yanga Mbiwa will be recalled to try to deal with the rampant threat of Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge. Pardew has revamped his tactics since last season, when Newcastle narrowly avoided relegation having struggled in the league from November onward. He said: "It was one of my worst days as Newcastle boss, for sure. It's happened to bigger and better managers than me though - Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger, they've had those days, too. "If there isn't an extra bit of fire in the bellies of some of our players this weekend, then there'll be something wrong. "There'll be quite a few players playing who played on that day, and I'd be disappointed if they don't respond. That's what you like to see. "That was a defeat that was off the back of a really tough week. "We'd been battered about losing the derby, and psychologically we weren't in a great place. It was about being logical about how it happened, and making sure we got the team over the line, which we managed to do. At that point, it was looking dangerous for us. "You deal with it by just being around your family and your kids helps. They know how to deal with you. But I don't think my little girl asked me to play netball the next day! She usually gets me out there. "When you get a defeat like a 6-0 against Liverpool, then you have to really make sure you're on your mettle. It probably kicks you into gear to make some changes. "When you get a win, sometimes there's probably the same motivation to keep things the same. "You have to make sure that there's a response in the next game, and we managed to get ourselves out of that hole fortunately, but it was a tough day. "You just have to be strong, and be bold in your own opinions of what you're doing. Since I've been here, I like to think I've set teams up to play an attractive style of football and win games on the front foot. "At the back end of last year, I thought we got ourselves into a position where it was difficult to set teams up like that because I didn't think we were carrying enough threat. "This year, I don't think that. I think we carry a lot of threat, and therefore we just need to get the shape of the team and the defending side of things nailed down. If we can do that, we're going to score goals. "Remember, I've also had some good days against Liverpool. My first game in charge was special, and the victory over them was a sweet one as well. "Against a big club like Liverpool, you can't expect to have it all your own way." Pardew says Liverpool's rise to equal top of the table is no fluke under his mate Rodgers and says they can maintain their pace-setting status: "I think they have a strong squad, and the numbers to really contend.
