J7
Who will come in? We are in the top 20 richest clubs in the world and basically everywhere on the continent managers get very little say in the transfer dealings. Not anymore. Sure it's 25th now. We keep slipping and slipping under Ashley.
Stifler
The local journos are just as spineless tbh and will heel turn on a sixpence if Ashley ever decides that letting them back in is in his interests. Hopefully that won't happen and their spite continues to show itself as honesty. Yeah. They may not be able to get to Ashley but they are certainly trying to put down his puppy dog, and I can't wait for the day Pardew has to go to the vets. BONTEMPI
http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/alan-pardew-newcastle-uniteds-transfer-6981145 Alan Pardew has revealed Newcastle United’s transfer plans are not “cast in stone.” He insisted that, despite a club statement this week suggesting the club will aim for “one or two” signings a year, the Magpies could still have a bigger recruitment drive. Many fans felt the statement by managing-director Lee Charnley contradicted Pardew’s views that up to five players could arrive in the coming months. Yet when pressed on the situation, Pardew said: “It is not cast in stone. “That (the statement) is an ideal scenario.” Newcastle are likely to lose Shola Ameobi and Dan Gosling on free transfers this summer, plus a host of unsettled stars could quit. Pardew suggested they would be replaced. He added: “Without putting myself under enormous pressure, when one or two leave they have to be replaced. “We still have to get one or two. In principle, what the statement was, was a statement of what we would ideally like. “If you get into a position like we were last year, we got Remy and we were a strong team for the first half of the season. “We lost Cabaye and we have almost lost Remy for the second half.” Pardew also feels the appointment of Charnley is a step forward. He says: “I know Lee Charnley has been announced this week. “I know there has been negative Press around that. “I actually think that is good news. “He knows the club and he cares about the club. “He is somebody I work well with and Graham Carr works well with. “It can be a smooth process. That buoyed me. “But the immediate problem is a result.” So 1 or 2 players a season is an ideal scenario is it?
