TaylorJ_01 Posted Monday at 21:58 Share Posted Monday at 21:58 I hope they back Amorim with loads of money in summer, lumbering them with a very rigid and weird formation with loads of random portuguese players to fit it, then sack him. He's hilarious. One thing they haven’t done in recent years is turn on the manager quickly.  Don’t think they ever turned on ten hag to be honest, nor Solskjaer, Mourinho or van gaal. I know that doesn't necessarily represent the majority of the supporters.

They despise the ownership and back the manager.  Same with Ole and LvG. Mourinho a few of them did to be fair. Edited Monday at 23:34 by Ronaldo

Their ratio of genuine fans to fickle / casual Talksport phoners with contrasting feelings about the club is genuinely quite staggering.

My bosses boss said he was a lifelong Manchester City fan. His quote after that. "You know I was born in Manchester because I am not a Manchester United fan". As a side note, he DM'd me in a meeting after Newcastle won the League Cup and said congrats as he knows I am a Newcastle fan. He said he went through many lean years. Kid Icarus Posted yesterday at 00:18 Share Posted yesterday at 00:18 (edited) Aye, all of the Man United fans I've ever known up here, all lifelong fans who wouldn't ever accept being called a casual are all absolute bellends to a man like. Remember Talksport playing adverts for match tickets before Xmas etc. Their patience with LVG was also short lived as they found his football boring. They give Jose a bit more time due to his recent reputation but they lost patience with him the season after he finished 2nd as they thought he was toxic. Ole they backed due to an amazing 27+ game run but that unraveled after they mistakenly resigned Ronaldo.  ETH and RA so far they have stuck with. Think it’s dawned on the wider fanbase they needed to rip it up and start again.

sixx Posted yesterday at 10:22 Share Posted yesterday at 10:22 I genuinely don't think their recruitment has been as bad as it's made out. Player recruitment isn't their main worry - it's player development. I genuinely believe there is a good player in Höjlund, Zirkzee, Yoro, Ugarte et al and I would be very confident of for example Eddie Howe taking them to the next level and having them playing to the maximum of their abilities. The likes of Slot, Guardiola and probably Arteta and Thomas Frank could probably do it too. Something in the ManU setup stalls the development of pretty much every player yet they always go for the same remedy of fixing the problem with cash on the transfer market. And we repeatedly see players leaving the club and having a decent go at it elsewhere. McTominay scored two last night and is a key member fighting for the Scudetto. And apparently they have no use for him? They plainly refuse to acknowledge their problems but long may it continue and I hope they enjoy being 13th in the league.  What irkes me massively though is listening to media 'experts' saying ManU need and pretty much deserve wholesale changes to their squad. That everyone in their squad "isn't good enough". How is it that the likes of us or Villa or Forest have to make Jacob Murphy, Chris Wood or John McGinn look class but Man are allowed to throw their 70m toys out of the pram and should just buy new ones? Why doesn't anyone call this crap out?

The match going lads I know certainly didn't turn on Mourinho though, and had a much bigger issue with Pogba/Lingard et al than they ever did the manager.

The vast majority didn't agree with the sacking.  Mourinho got plenty of support but started losing his marbles towards the end and everyone agreed it was time for him to go once we got absolutely battered by Liverpool. There was no way back from it.  Ole was well backed by the fans. Still the most enjoyable time as a fan post Fergie, and easily the most underrated manager we've had since then. Limited sure, but knew how to set the team up to play to it's strengths. Asked for Haaland and instead was given Ronaldo who didn't fit into his team at all and it all went pear shaped from there.  Ten Hag got more than enough backing from both fans and the board.  Moyes didn't get the support any of the others did from fans or the board.
