It’s against FA rules.

Clubs and clubs owners & directors are forbidden to loan or gift another club any money. It goes all the way down the pyramid as well, so Newcastle United are not allowed to say give or loan North Shields any money if say they were in financial trouble.

Gabigol (Barbosa) did similar while playing for Flamengo when he was photographed wearing a Corinthians shirt. Went from hero to zero with Flamengo’s fans in an instant and has now left the club.

It’s an a-hole move - very unprofessional and vengeful, benefitting no-one really.

Pretty sure Ince was pictured in a Man Utd top before his move from West Ham was completed way back in the day
