Wiki suggests Man Utd at least discussed a new contract with him. Fair play if he's gone abroad to try it out.

Born in Newcastle, called Shola, maybe we should bring him home.

Anyone know how it works with sell-on clauses whenever the player has been bought in instalments?

We're owed £7.6m from the Carreras deal, but say Real pay his fee over 3 years, when do we actually get that cash?

In PSR terms, it’s in the season you sell.

You laugh but prices are kind of mad, wouldn't be shocked to see them get 50m for him.

It's actually a sobering reminder of much more we need to do with the academy.

Garnacho is amongst a set of players that they're not allowing to train with the first team, who have publicly proclaimed they want to leave, and who have all been labelled as malcontents.

Clubs are going to offer way below value for them, or wait to get them on loan. They are in real trouble regarding sales for these guys.

The move for Man United was to do everything to convince Bruno to go to Saudi for that £100 million that was offered. But they bottled it.

Absolute best case scenario for Garnacho will be around £40 million, but I'm not sure I can even see that happening now.

40m is still plenty and plus when has a player who's been frozen out ever stopped buying clubs?

All the pressure is on Man United regarding moving these players on. Clubs are not going to be in any kind of hurry to pay any kind of decent money for them.

Froggy was proclaiming they'd get £60 million for him, and so ask him how he feels about £40 million, which I think will be the absolute best at this point, so I'm not even confident they get that at all.

I think 60m is obviously on the ambitious side. But then again we've seen many daft fees paid for players who are average but hyped.

Froggy and many Manchester United fans were definitely very confident about being able to shift players though ill give you that.

Plenty of time left in the window mins, let's see how things play out.

Yeah. lets see. it's going to be really interesting.

Really do think they missed a great chance to have an early and proper rebuild when they didn't take that money for Fernandes.

They wanted to, believe me.

The issue they had is they couldn't be seen to push him out hence why they left it to him.

And don't worry, our wonderful owners will pony up next summer and fund them, it's just what they do.

Yeah, maybe he just wasn't for the move at all.

I'm not too worried about the Saudi clubs buying these players for the meantime.

Because as soon as the likes of Joelinton and Bruno start winding down their careers at Newcastle and those Saudi offers come in, no one is going to be in position to complain about the money we command for them.

You think the fair market value metric is based on public opinion?

It's important to remember we won't getting outlandish fees for them, the bench mark will be set against fees we can command from clubs other than PIF owned ones.

We'll get £7m for Big Joe and £12m + £1m in add-ons for Bruno in the same deal that Liverpool get £450m for a geriatric Salah and Man Utd get £300m for some bloke who works in the ticket office.

Spoiler

And the septic six will still complain about it

Then we'll have to lawyer up and take the Premier League to court.

The benchmark will have to be the fees being forked out to other clubs for comparable players to the ones we own.

We have money there for Mbeumo and can't get that over the line for the sake of a few million. What makes you lads think we'd do any better with an extra £100m?

Bruno is the heartbeat of everything we do and one of the best players in the world. I'm glad he didn't want to go. He has the best attitude of any of the players and I personally think we need him for the rebuild.

Garnacho had better numbers than Gittens, Madueke etc. last season so I stand by my valuation of him, but that was obviously before all this bomb squad nonsense. He'll have a hefty sell on clause either way. I'd happily take £40m now with 20% of any future sale.

Two issues though Frogman.

You outwardly want rid of Garnacho and right or wrong Garnacho seems to have an issues with his attitude

Someone will buy him, and he's a good player who will only get better. If they can keep him and his brother off his phone then they're on to a winner.

The rest of the bomb squad I don't really give a shit about and just want them gone. But we have to get a good fee for Garnacho.

Where does Mainoo sit in all of this? All gone quiet since Chelsea (surprise…) were linked a while back.

Seemed like lazy links when it was clear we were going to have to sell some players. He won't go. He had bulked up a lot last season when he was out injured but seems to have shed quite a bit of the weight over the break. He'll get plenty of gametime I think.

A lot of the players have come back looking very lean.

The problem is after Elanga Mudueke and Kudus I wonder what team still needs a winger and able to come up with 40m? I could only think of Bayern if they failed the Diaz bid
