I take it that's specific to this country?

I know its happened in Germany before when Bayern helped out 1860 when they were in dire straits financially.

Didn't they also help out Borussia Dortmund in the past?

Quite a few things in your post have surprised me. From what I've read, Garnacho is on his way out. I'm not sure what you mean by his attitude, but for whatever reason, it doesn't look like Amorim has favoured him, and he is a player with some ability.

On the occasions that I saw Mainoo last season, he wasn't playing that well. Seeing as he was playing in a team that looked very unsure of itself, that's not too surprising.

I don't think I've seen Diallo as a defender. To me, his strengths look better used further forward.

Your final sentence is the one that really took me aback. 15th in the league and no trophies and all the genuine fans think he's good? You're all in de-Nile.

I'll reply here Cronky so it doesn't take over that thread.

Garnacho has bags of talent, but that's what important for this club right now. He has well documented behavioural issues and that's the reason the manager doesn't want him. Training performance, juvenile social media posts, openly questioning managers decisions etc. These are the kind of attitudes that have brought the team to its knees over the last while. We need players with the right mindset.

Mainoo wasn't playing that well, you're right. But he missed 17 games last season with injury, and was in and out of a team that had changed manager and formation. He was always going to struggle. He should be able to raise his level next season, although I don't see him establishing himself as a starter at any stage.

The RWB in Amorim's system is more of a winger anyway. A lot more attacking than defending. I definitely see him being a RWB rather than a CAM in this formation.

15th in the league and no trophies is a surface level view. We were getting battered all over the pitch in most games. Towards the end of the season that was all starting to change. We're also well aware of some toxic personalities in the team and Amorim isn't like previous managers who will play them anyway. Maybe tactically he doesn't have what it takes, we'll see, but he's definitely the right man for the reset as he doesn't tolerate any nonsense.

Look at our last set of results to finish the season. We lost 6 and drew 2 of our last 9. The only game we deserved to lose was against Newcastle where we were thoroughly beaten. We were hideously unlucky in most of the other games, and funny enough the one game where we dominated and got the result we deserved sent Newcastle into the Champions League.

We'll be miles better next season. Top 8 at least. ;)

Could add the Chelsea (0-1), West Ham (0-2) and Brentford (3-4) games to that list.

That’s a big shout for a team that’s only added Cunha and looks likely to lose a player like Garnacho.

The average team needs three transfer windows to rebuild their side, with your showing last year id say four is more realistic. The defence and goalkeeping positions will need absolutely gutting if you’ve got a hope of top 8. Throw in the full on exorcism of negativity and malaise that the club seemingly needs from the boardroom level downwards and it could take even longer still. Rangnick had the right of it when he said the club needs open heart surgery.

Stevie Wonder could maybe.

Nice response. Brentford had 4-1 after 74 mins. 2,57-1,50 xG. You scored your third in your last kick of the game. A fair result.

Their first goal was a deflection to take it away from the keeper.

Their second De Ligt was badly injured and they refused to put it out of play and instead crossed into the box and scored from a header while De Ligt was lying in a heap.

Garnacho whiffed a huge chance (which doesn't reflect on xG).

We didn't deserve to lose it, and even at that it was almost entirely a second string side anyway.

That's why there's a charity bet going on. Get involved.

Amorim is bringing the glory days again.

Top 8 would be huge improvement from ManU, and seems unlikely. No Europe helps, but then makes it harder to atract players. When you don't score a lot and your goalie gives easy goals...

Step 1 of the process.

Step 2: the treble

Step 3 take the plane back to London/Belfast, hop on the old tinterweb and tell all the lads on redcafe that Ferguson wouldn’t have had Garnacho ballooning about in Balenciaga knickers on his twinstagram thing

Prescriptions for Deludamol are through the roof in the Manchester area.

Top six should be easily attainable. However, they must get rid of that arsehole of a goalkeeper. Do you agree Froggy?

I do agree. Onana is absolutely rubbish.

He's on the block but will probably survive until next summer.
