They were profitable, though. The debt balloon is separate from what you're pointing out. The debt only affects their value, not their operation.

Is it ridiculous? Yes, but that's where we're at.

Spin it whatever way you like, but one reason PSR was brought in was to stop teams from racking up unsustainable debts.

I call being 1.3 Billion in debt and increasing unsustainable.

You mention that they were profitable, how about any profit they make, half must go towards paying off that debt ?

I find it ludicrous that you can have that much debt but still spend without a care in the world, whilst others with little or no debt suffer.

I agree with you completely. The profit they make goes towards the interest on the debt, I believe. Didn't dive too deep into it, but I agree, part of the financial rules should mean debt repayment beyond the interest.

If they don't get CL qualification, they're in trouble and the EV of the org will really suffer.

Manchester United midfielder Jack Fletcher has apologised for using a homophobic slur that has led to him receiving a six-match ban.

The England Under-19 international, son of United legend Darren Fletcher, was shown a red card in the 62nd minute of a 5-2 EFL Trophy defeat by Barnsley in October.

At the time it was not clear what had prompted the decision.

However, the Football Association has now confirmed that Fletcher, 18, was sent off for calling an opponent "gay boy".

This is fucking disgusting. The language used here is appalling. "legend" FFS when he was no more than a bit part midfielder brought in when their actual players needed a rest. Rancide behaviour!

Six match ban seems fairly light tbh.

If someone was to be sent off for using a racial slur as egregious as that, I reckon they’d be getting longer than that.

Waiting for Froggy to tell us that Fletcher just thought the other player had a happy face.

I call my brother gay boy all the time. Just a bit of banter.

I'd agree. Homophobia is even worse in football than racism. It's so insidious so no one gives a shit.

As homophobic slurs go it's fairly vanilla that one.

Not sure if 6 games ban from academy games is much of a punishment tbf but not sure what else they could do.

25 point deduction for the first team and automatic forfeit of their next game iyam.

ref gave them like 20 minutes extra across the game too, and sent off our player for no reason, still couldn't win.

Still chucking assaulting pest criminal Maguire up top too despite spending a billion quid. So embarrassing.
