54 Posted March 4 Share Posted March 4 I've not watched Man United since Carrick came in, and I was expecting them to be fast and energetic and exploiting the wings, given the quality of their wingers, but there was none of that, it was infact the opposite and I was surprised at the complete lack of a press they employed, it all felt quite static, I know a lot of that was down to our good performance, but they where actually pretty sloppy overall. That was there 32nd game this season, while it was our 46th, you genuinely would have thought it was the other way round. Carrick has a bit of the Bruce about him, not in the complete lack of a plan aspect, but more that he seemed to have no presence on the touchline, like at all, he looked quite timid and very quiet. Been winning through a moment of brilliance, getting results from late goals and not playing that well otherwise. From what I’ve seen, anyway. Not that I pay too much attention, so might be wide of the mark. We were great tonight. But they were so passive. Almost less of a threat when we were down to 10 as they couldn’t counter effectively.
