He’s terrible at dribbling when he gets squared up, never ever manages to beat his man. We were dealing with him fine on the wing

He's lost a yard of pace as well. He might end up as a #9 which is where he always hated playing.

Awful finisher, but when it goes right for him it's often spectacular.

Out of curiosity, @Froggy; are you still inclined to defend Amorim or have you finally started to see what everyone else is seeing? In particular after his recent interview where he stated he'd "never" alter his tactics for any player or club? The last time you had a permanent manager with a worse win percentage at the helm was in 1931, man...

Also, I find it amusing how Man Utd fans seemingly trash talk OGS when his league PPG is the third highest of all time for a Man Utd manager. You replaced OGS's 1.81 league PPG with Ten Hag's 1.72 league PPG and then brought in Amorim's stunning 0.97 league PPG :dontknow:

For clarity, Fergie had a league PPG of 2.16, Mourinho a league PPG of 1.89 (then OGS) with Van Gaal following in third with 1.79 league PPG. League PPG rather obviously excludes "PPG" for european fixtures and national cup fixtures, which if included would likely see some minor fluctuations for everyone.

Of course. He's 4 games in to his first full season. In isolation does anyone think losing to Arsenal and City or drawing away to Fulham are unusual results? Some decent teams were beaten twice by Fulham last season.

Win percentage is just the new stick people use to beat us with. Very quick to criticise Ole and Ten Hag but they've got the 3rd and 4th highest win percentage in our history, but if used that to defend them it would be laughed at.

Performances are massively improved and the results will come. I'm still behind wor Hooben, until 5:30pm tomorrow at least.

Why'd you hound out the third most successful manager in your club's history if you all loved him so much, then?

FWIW, I don't necessarily think OGS is a very good manager per se. I do however 100% believe he was a fairly perfect fit to manage the club Man Utd had became under Fergie given how everything he does has been influenced by Fergie, one way or the other  In my opinion Man Utd is one of those clubs that need someone to run it that "knows the club" and how it's meant to be run to achieve success, any and all outsiders coming in with new ideas and visions that aren't continuations/evolutions of pre-existing ideals/club identity will always end up failing. Fergie turned Man Utd into a mythological beast in a sense, which means you essentially need a Bishop who's a devout follower of the Gospel of Fergie rather than a "Manager".

Not sure I managed to explain my thoughts well there, ah well  it is what it is

I certainly didn't hound him out. I love him.

I also do think Solskjaer is a good manager. Stupidly underrated.

He's been good for Molde and Man Utd, two clubs he knows deeply. But he was absolute shit for Cardiff and Besiktas, which has me believing he's a good manager if he manages a club he's familiar with and knows how to approach managing before getting the gig in the first place. Granted, both the clubs he did shit for aren't clubs that are known to be easy for anyone to manage

1.79 PPG across all clubs (471 matches) isn't a shabby PPG total at all, though.

Am I alone in thinking Paddy Power’s banter is absolutely shite? Seems like most on here find it hilarious.

Maybe one for the unpopular opinions thread.

It’s definitely try hard. I think it’s ok in parts but a bit desperate at times

On their own PaddyPower skits are pretty funny, and I do enjoy them but given they're a betting company, and it's all been manufactured by some marketing agency to get people going towards their platform, all in the name of maximising profits at the expense of every day people. It all rings a bit hollow.
