DJ_NUFC
The image of The King and John Charva being refs in training has me incensed for some reason, walking over to a fallen French player and telling him to "gerrup Dorothy, you're not in Kansas anymore..." Anything this man says just pushes me over the edge.

Ronaldo
I'll never understand anyone, especially someone in this country, supporting diving, like. As if pretending has any legitimate part in professional sport.
Klaus
The problem in a lot of other European and south American countries, is that diving and simulation is just a normal part of the sport. Doing anything you can to beat your opponent is all that matters, I don't know if has always been like that, but it certainly is the case nowadays. The College Dropout
He's not even diving. Just quick to hit the deck.
Ikon
There's no chance that we paid £12m for Cabella. Just saying, not that it does matter.
Guest palnese
How much did we pay then?
joeyt
£11.9 million
Chicane
Aside from his usual smugness he's not said much wrong about Cabella there. One would think for £12m he'd be more impressive than he has so far. Was predictable as you like that he'd be too poncy for Pardew though. You don't get much for £12m in football these days tbf
Ikon
Don't know if correct but i read somewhere that we paid £7-8m. Whatever we paid i very much doubt that t was £12m that was reported in most news.
Varadi
I reckon it could've been 12 million Euros, which would be around 9.5 million quid.
HawK
Easy way to solve diving is to implement two things - one, insert rule that players must at all times try their best to stay on their feet. If the ref believes they don't, they don't get a freekick/pen awarded. Second is to implement a standard post-game review panel that looks at the footage of each match and anyone kicking at players or stuff not spotted by the ref, including diving, gets punished harshly. You'd see probably a lot less free kicks, a lot less penalties in the short term, but over time once the review panels dish out post-match cards (yellows/reds) enough times, the game will become really free-flowing again. Would probably only take 5-6 matches into a season too.
Shush
It's weird it feels like we are just waiting for this guy to explode and become a monster on the pitch with skills, passing, dribbling etc. - so far he still looks shit scared of how rough it is over here, so can't apply his game. buzza
Didn't shirk much today and a couple of his crosses were class... Looks to be getting close to his 9.5/12M fee now...
Guest Recoba
Still wants way too many touches.
Shush
I think he's got a way to go to justify the fee, but he's heading in the right direction.
aussiemag
I think well see the best of him second half of the season, he plays a lot of one two's and is still learning about his team mates. Needs to get used to the physicality of games too, could work on his core strength.
midds
Not going to learn anything to help him adapt to the English game by being left out constantly. Needs to play and the manager has to accept it's not going to happen overnight.
TRon
Yes he's lightweight, but he works hard and did win a few tackles today. He showed flashes of quality going forward as well, involved with the first goal and that cross before the second goal was class.
Gallowgate Toon
Getting better. He did some good things today and he works well with Janmaat when the other flank has more width to it.
STM
He seems to improve when the game opens up and legs get tired. Second half against Spurs, Liverpool and today.
jdckelly
getting there, just needs time to adapt but definite improvement in the sub appearances and todays game compared to first few games.
