Newcastle United 0 - 2 Man City - 12/01/14 - Post-match reaction from page 41

Taking Anita off was a mistake. He's a cracking little player.

I think the biggest problem with that sub is that we dont' have any better striker than Papiss to put on.

This. Taking anita off was not the worst descision in the world, it just turns out that Cisse is our only option. Would rather it was sissoko/gouffran, but still.

Our best performance against City in years

We didn't deserve to lose and was robbed by the refs, although despite it being a very good save Remy should be scoring.

Good luck to Arsenal and Chelsea, they are going to find it hard to topple a team which quite clearly have taken Fergie's ref advantage.

As if Arsenal and Chelsea don't get the same generosity.

We have done alright today it's a shame they got that second goal.

But let's not kid ourselves here, we've again created very little.

Remy was through on goal twice for one. Dont know why people keep repeating this bollocks, we're playing one of the best sides in the league.

It's not bollocks though is it?

Yes we had one chalked off but lack flair and creativity hence us playing two wide players who's role it is to track back and not add much to the attack.

Sissoko & Gouffran add nothing to attack? Slightly big bias in your viewpoint there. Not worth discussing really.

It's not bias at all.

I'm stating facts, Gouff and Sissoko aren't chance creators.

Gouff gets goals due to having a strikers instinct and doesn't create a great deal as he's picked to track back not for his ability to create.

And Pardew loves Sissoko Pace and power. It's not rocket science.

To be fair Sissoko has 5 EPL assists this year but I don't deem either one chance creators personally.

Chelsea will win the league, City look totally frail when a side puts up a fight like we did today.

If your basing that on today then surely that further strengthens City's argument as we beat Chelsea?

Chelsea were really poor that part of the season (not taking anything away from our win against them) and have yet to really find themselves.

They have the far better manager, though.

City get gamechanging calls on a weekly basis and while Arsenal and Chelsea get calls too its nowhere close to the amount City do.

City are the best side in the league by quite some distance imo.

I think Chelsea are the more complete side, but City are definitely the most powerful. They've been blowing teams out of the water this season. Let the foot off the gas today after they went up.

why has remy gone off the boil (

Because he's not a lone striker..... he's either a wide forward coming in off the flank and running at defenders or playing off the main striker.

Its no coincidence he's struggled since we started mainly playing him as a main striker.... get a striker in and play him off him or out on the left again.

THAT is doing our team a great disservice, they played as well as we allowed them. We were absolutely screwed today.

We deserved to win and they still got their standard 2-0

A complete and utter screwjob today, no two ways about it. The ref will get demoted for a few weeks and people will have sympathy for us but what do we get? Nothing. So pissed off with it.

And it was the one time Tiote actually kept the ball in the stadium these past three years!

We played well but I disagreed with the subs. Cisse for Anita was poor on both ends, whilst Ben Arfa should've got much more than 10 minutes.

So overall, it's all about that one decision. We were absolutely screwed.

Aye no doubt. Should've at the very least been a point for us. We made the most of the shitty opportunities given. Pressed hard and played well.

But if City had maintained the pressure of the opening 10 minutes, they would've bagged at least one more before HT and we would've lost comfortably.
