timeEd32
Ridiculous that Liverpool paid 8.5m for Coutinho in 2013. Now might sell him for 90-100m.

themanupstairs
An example of a poor signing by that fraud Rodgers. It was a very good signing by a fraud of a manager. It's not like Coutinho was plucked out from obscurity ffs

Taylor Swift
Happy for Neymar if he goes, to be honest. Make the most of his career financially. Rather that than the owners making a profit. His deal will also set the benchmark for other players, pushing up wages for everyone else in the industry. This includes manager, coaches, scouts etc.

The College Dropout
Why is it awful? Its largely not the local fans that are paying it. All the money in football from rich owners - rather it go to the players and ways to support the local community the way I think City's owners do. Cronky
Don't get the hype for Barkley. A few years ago he had a good 18 months or so, sure a lot of his goals came from free kicks as well. Now he played like another forgettable midfielder, except he still has his reputation from his good spell, add on top that he's English and that gets the press creaming over him. Regardless of perceptions, he had the most assists (8) of any English player in the Premier League. That said, Dele Alli got one assist less, and scored 18 goals whereas Barkley only got 5. Everton fans I know pretty much all want shot of him, frustratingly so inconsistent. I'd have him here in a heartbeat though. Just imagine the strop on if both Shelvey and Barkley are playing and can't be arsed Barkley has lost his way a bit at Everton, but I don't doubt his talent and if surrounded by even better players, he would fulfil more of his potential. Spurs look very confident of getting him at a slightly reduced price, and he'd be tailor made for them. He could be key to them taking that final step. Village Idiot
Yeah, I absolutely don't get people cheering on millionaires getting even richer Fair enough you don't care about owners pocketing the money, but I give two fucks whether footballers can buy two private jets instead of just one. leffe186
Matic to Man Utd I have to confess, I'm not looking forward to this season. The money is just...I dunno. I feel like the only thing holding me back from the tipping point is that Spurs are (a) doing well and (b) doing well in an admirable way. I don't think I'll ever be able to walk away entirely, but that taste in my mouth is getting worse and worse. Its a bit like Trump. So much everywhere you turn that you want to just give up. The Neymar debate is a perfect example.

STM
Spending big brings pressure with it.. Only one of Man Utd, Man City or Chelsea can win the league. Leaving two of those teams with a taste of failure. Manager's get sacked and players move on. It's the circle of life. My point is, if I was a Spurs fan of be more than happy to keep my powder dry and let the other "big guns", cut each others throats. If Spurs spend smart they won't be far off the pack. They have already leapfrogged Arsenal and Liverpool IMO.
Mole_Toonfan
I doubt Spurs are keeping their powder dry so to speak, it's probably more to do with the fact the players that would improve them are either not interested or too expensive.
Guest
They should be starting to give the likes of Alderwereld, Alli, Eriksen and Rose wages that they'd get at the likes of City if they're not going to buy players or want their current players to follow Walker. Guest palnese
They've not got the money to pay top wages. The richest clubs will pick Spurs' players sooner or later. Players like Kane, Eriksen, Alli etc aren't going to hang around forever if players of similar quality or worse at City, Chelsea and Man Utd earn twice or three times as much as they do at Spurs. I think Tottenham have peaked and the only way is down.

Another year of TV money, Champions League money and then they'll have the upgraded stadium, they should be able to get better players moving forward.
