mrmojorisin75
Pocchetino, Lambert, Lallana and Shaw all gone. Fucking hell. Serves Southampton right for having the audacity to be good but not be one of the top four. Football. idk it's kind of a good model for sustainable growth imo. You create and academy that will produce players that can be sold for very high sums of money, whilst at the same time advancing your team up the league. You sell said players and employ a manager with a good reputation and one that can attract better players with the money available. You basically keep progressing up to the point you no longer have to sell the players as you are sufficiently high enough in the league to keep them. did they have to sell them now? the players wanted to leave at the first sign of a big club, hardly like southampton have been pardewing them in the press at every opportunity, sure if the players were happy they'd have kept them? as yorkie said, football
The College Dropout
Spurs showed you can resist a lot until the offer is too good to turn down. £60m for those 2 players is brilliant. But to me it looks like a fire sale rather than a Levy move.
Yorkie
It's the way football is these days; elitist, where a minuscule percentage of football clubs on the planet cherry-pick the best players from the rest. It's probably always been that way to some extent, but to this extent? Where one team has a good season and, as a result, the crux of their squad (and manager!) completely disintegrates? Shit, man. mrmojorisin75
bear in mind there's a strong chance they might also lose lovren & schneiderlin if rumours are anything to go by
mrmojorisin75
not disagreeing with you like, but they have a new manager and might have to replace 5-6 first team players in order to start the season where they left off no easy feat
midds
bear in mind there's a strong chance they might also lose lovren & schneiderlin if rumours are anything to go by They're a genuine threat to our balance sheet champions trophy. Thats assuming the owner decides to let the full amount go to replacing them which is debatable

KaKa
Anyway ... it's looking as though Emenike will join Chelsea, so yet another top Nigerian player for Mourinho to castrate. Great. woah! is he any good? surely not at chelsea's level anyway They'll no doubt have him as a bench scrub. He'll do better than Torres and Eto'o did last year though. I can see why Mourinho would like him because he's very competitive and physical. So he'll suit the more direct Chelsea approach.

KaKa
Allow the Southampton pity please. They have appointed a manager that is at least 10 times better than ours, and are getting disgusting amounts of money for these players they are selling. They will invest a lot of it, and so will have the opportunity to do as well as last season, and even better.

I imagine he wants three options for that central striker role. Torres and Eto'o are done.
