Not just that, a lot better technically as well, what a diference! Worked his socks off and used the ball well. Stronger defensively than Obertan by a mile. Some nice tackles. I'm happy for him and hopefully he has done enough to be picked ahead of mong. Love you Ayoze! in his entire time with us has obertan tracked a runner and put a slide tackle in in the box to block the cross?
toontownman
Tempted to keep him there with thauvin on the other side. Looked great today. Fear obertan will just switch wings though.

The College Dropout
Only slight criticism is I wish he could've tested Romero with that shot but it was a good effort.

Mole_Toonfan
Obertan won't play if Sissoko is fit, i'm confident about saying that but i fear Ayoze might not either. Although he should, would definitely go 433 with Anita-Sissoko-Wijnaldum/Ayoze-Mitrovic-Thauvin personally.

triggs
Obertan's finished now as a starter like I'm pretty sure
Newcastle Fan
Gotta love Ayoze, for a supposedly technical Spanish player he runs his socks off and always helps his team mates out.
Ikon
His decision making impresses me a lot i must say! Also how rarely he loses the ball.

SiLvOR
Thought he was our best player for his overall contribution. Was great going forward, very intelligent passing and movement. His defensive work was also top notch, which to be quite honest I didn't expect from him. Would start him on the left again, Thauvin right.
Minhosa
Love this guy. One of those players you could play anywhere and he'd put a shift in for you.
Dave
I think he's brilliant and going to be an absolute star if he keeps improving like this. Hopefully for us.
Shush
Surely today has cemented him as starter for McClaren? - Him and Gini and pure magic in the opposition half.
samptime29
Buying this lad for £2 Million was such a good value signing.
LionOfGosforth
Brilliant team player. How much better did our left side look today without the Brainless simpleton Obertan failing miserably to cover an exposed left back. No coincidence either that Haidara's performance was light years better with the confidence of quality cover from Ayoze when he attacked. Perez needs a run in the team, love his spirit, quality and team ethic.

Gallowgate Toon
Think he'll have shown McClaren he can handle responsibility out wide. Will be very surprised if Obertan starts next week.
54
Anita Wijnaldum Sissoko Perez Thauvin Mitrovic Subs: De Jong, Aarons, Obermong, Colback, Tiote, Cisse, Darlow. Imo

At this point I'm convinced our best set up involves them all. Sissoko and Gini sitting behind a front 3 of Thauvin/Aarons, Mitrovic, Ayoze. Would involve dropping Colback though, which I can't see him doing.
