We should be offering a bit more like, but he can't expect first team wages at this stage, he's only played 5 games.

Big potential obviously and if they have any sense they'll up it a bit with some bonuses for goals/assists/appearances.  So the next offer will likely be £5k per week.

Bearing in mind we no longer offer improved contracts after a couple of years if a player does exceptionally well, he would be committing himself to £6k a week until he is 24.

Most clubs would want to improve a player's contract if they are doing well in order to keep them at the club.  There is no need for us to do that as we plan to sell them instead.

If he leaves, the club will drop enough soundbites through the media about him wanting too much money so most fans will accuse him of being greedy and say the club were right not to concede to his and the agent's demands.

Twitter folks seeming to think we've offered him £6k a week, ffs.

It's in the Chronicle article in fairness. Same one says he can do one at the end of the season should he wish.

Ryder denying the clause now. Even though he wrote the article!

You couldn't make it up.

bit of a joke really, offer him 8k for the first year rising each year by 5k a year based on senior team appearances or something like that, it can't be hard he is obviously going to be worth something in a year or two if they develop him more they make more money!

god even im thinking like ashley now :( fuck this club

They got their hands burnt with Ranger so I can understand why they'd be cautious, especially given his injury record so far in the first team environment.

I'm not surprised he's injured!
