It's the same guy who was preparing to bestow legend status on Pardew after he wins the league cup

Name me the term you would use to describe the first manager to win the club a major trophy since 1969

Someone else.

But what do you think of Jack Colback?

The weird thing is that nobody ever talks about something specific that Pardew has done well... how he tactically out-thought an opponent, how he really developed a new player, how he got the most out of the players he has or came up with a great new system etc. The only positive thing is a few random good results every now and then.

All he's done is win three games

With an average 35% possession across all 3.

Fucking legend.

Possession is irrelevant really, it's what you do with it that counts.

I'm sure Celtic beat Barcelona with only 16% possession.

Yes, in a one off game, possession doesn't really matter. But if we have 35% possession consistently, we're obviously going to get battered.

still abhor pardew with a passion, but at the moment it is more because of who he is as a person rather than being a negative clueless t*** of manager.

actually he must be the only manager who could start to turn things around with decent wins at spurs and city, and make himself even more unlikeable.

it was a perfect opportunity for him after the city game to reach out to the fans that have turned against him. he could have acknowledged his mistakes/excuses/negativity of the past 12 months and said that he had learnt from them, and also from the protests, to try and become a better manager and person. he could have said he'd realised why some fans had turned against him and come to understand and accept the reasons. instead, all the old bravado and ego has returned with a vengance.

for the first time in months i'll be actually cheering us on tomorrow but we could win the league cup and finish fourth in the premiership this season but he would not get a single cheer or applause from me.

Good post  totally agree. He bolloxed that up. If he was smart he would have said something like that to try to get at least a portion of the fans (that currently loathe him) onside. Also an olive branch would have shown him to be a classy person... he isn't.

That's the last time anyone smiled at Villa Park.

Fact.

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has compared his management to assembling Ikea furniture.

Pardew, 53, survived calls to be sacked following a poor start to the season, but the Magpies have won their last three games in all competitions.

"It's like Ikea furniture packs. You can't get to the end; you've got to do all the little bits to get there, and it takes time," Pardew said.

"I've done a few because my wife's Swedish. You've got to box it down."

He added: "It's about doing that little bit first, and if you get that wrong, the second bit doesn't work. If you get the second bit wrong, the third bit definitely isn't working.

"If you're in the coaching or managerial world, you actually segment it down. We've put some blocks in place that now gives us some sort of thing to hinge on to."

The better Pardew / IKEA comparison would be building some flat pack furniture, thinking you've done a great job, posting pictures online as it looks so good. Then it all falling to pieces when you put something on it because you actually built it wrong

What a retard he is
