Rémi Garde and the case of the missing art galleries

There's been silence from the garde camp for a week now too, while nearly every other manager we've been linked with has ruled themselves out, we've heard nothing from him. I think it's garde.

It is strange how we've heard nothing from them since the Chronicle said the club weren't happy the french media had found out about the meeting.

More hope.

Yeah, they've not said a thing. I'd have thought if the interest was over from either side, we'd have heard about it, like we have mclaren, Howe, the German guy and the guy from Madrid. Not a peep from garde or his camp  :shifty:

Unlike at Lyon where the fans worship Aulas for putting the club on the map, Newcastle fans seem to hate Mike Ashley with a passion and remain a tough crowd to please these days. Staying on Ashley’s good side – who, before the Pardew days, often sacked managers for little reason – and being popular with the fans is a tough ask these days. Mr Keegan, Hughton and Pardew can testify to that effect.

Whoever wrote that is an imbecile.

I think the author means staying on Ashley's good side AND remaining popular with fans is a tough ask. Which is true tbf, both Hughton and Keegan were popular with fans but not so much with Ashley. And obviously Ashley loved Pardew but the fans despised him (or many of them did, at least)

That's how I read it too.

Guest Roger Kint

Nee sightings then?

Blame the channel tunnel being closed off.

He is trapped in that hotel room with Frank and Barnetta

I have my doubts he was ever a viable candidate for the board. I think they'd only ever considered Carver and if we search for a manager and get Garde, it's because we started searching and land on him from this point. Really it's always been Carver and if it's got to where Carver isn't getting the job, it's because Carver has showed himself up so much, even they can see he should be nowhere near a manager's job.
