Kanj
13/14 with the obnoxious Wonga-blue pinstripe is my stinker. 15/16 was obviously horrendous too for similar reasons. Spikes one was stupid but I quite liked the collar. 17/18 home was a beaut. Agree 100%. Spikes one collar was class - actually fit really well too. Decided to keep it. The 17/18 home kit was awesome too tbh, and last season's grew on me too tbh. Champo home kit has special memories to me because how much joy i had following Rafa's team. Carlito
Without doubt, the worst one they've given us was this: width=300https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yyrFRq3n8Mc/U-ND62N2BII/AAAAAAAAZIM/9ec4unR2c9A/s465/Newcastle-14-15-Home-Kit+(1).jpg[/img] Just needed a binbag taped to the back and we could have been the arch rivals of the Brown Bottle. BlueStar
To look at puma have done a couple of ok-ish designs, but the quality of kits is so bad they're un wearable. Yep. Quality is extremely poor. Compared a fake £8 one from China with a real £40 one from the club shop, and the only noticeable difference was the fake one had a nicely embroidered Puma logo on it, while the real one had a shit plastic sticker. BlueStar
Footy Headlines reckons our third kit will be "prism violet" and has made some mockups based on that https://www.footyheadlines.com/2020/04/newcastle-united-20-21-third-kit.html

Deuce
2011-12 was when I started following NUFC in earnest so I’ve got a soft spot in my heart for that year’s kit. 2012-13 was meh, but you got used to the spikes. Also liked the collar. Whoever designed the 2013-14 kit should be drawn and quartered. 2014-15 would’ve been one of the best kits we’ve had in 20 years if not for the inexplicable decision to tack on a black bib. 2015-16 was decent and I liked the third kit with the sash. 2016-17 effort was pretty poor but we were good so it didn’t matter. Away kit ala Boca was lush that year. 2017-18 was superb. The all-black third kit was great, too. 2018-19 was again excellent. And the best away kit we’ve had since the kit it paid homage to. This season’s is garbage. Patches should never again be centered on the chest. Best to worst of Puma 1. 2017-18 2. 2018-19 3. 2011-12 4. 2015-16 5. 2014-15 6. 2016-17 7. 2012-13 8. 2019-20 9. 2013-14 NV 2010-
Yorkie
I think our current one looks really nice from the back but weirdly misshapen from the front, worsened by the Fun88 which really jars against the thick stripes. For me it's: 17/18 home 18/19 home 11/12 home 16/17 home 12/13 home 10/11 home 19/20 home 14/15 home 15/16 home 13/14 home Aways 18/19 red-blue hoops 17/18 two-tone black 11/12 orange and white 12/13 all maroon 19/20 all orange 16/17 Boca-style 18/19 electric blue 17/18 sky blue n dark blue 11/12 all black 19/20 all dark green 16/17 white n purple 12/13 luminous green 10/11 all white 10/11 all light blue 14/15 all silver n wonga 13/14 yellow n wonga blue 15/16 pink-white wonga sash 13/14 dark blue n wonga blue 15/16 white n wonga blue 14/15 green-blue halves n wonga Sorry. Seems I needed to do that.

For a massive name in the sports industry every thing from the materials to the designs of our kits are fucking dreadful 10/11 was a basic design but the material was fucking shocking and the sponsor came off in the wash.... 11/12 people look back with in rose tinted goggles because we had a good season.... the design was fucking naff .... I liked the kit to cus of the memories.... but it looked like a waist coat and tie and the material was shite 12/13 was fine bar spikes Then from 2013 till 2016 was fucking ridiculous.... big fuck off capes and beaver teeth and splashes of blue .... 16/17-18/19 were good And this year was actually not as bad as people made out. As for the away/3rd kits they've all been meh bar 11/12 3rd and last seasons hooped effort.... I think puma and there jerseys completely suit and sun up the Ashley era, horrible, cheap and tacky.... I mind when I was a kid I couldn't sleep when ever we where releasing a new kit out of pure excitement....I think if/when the new takeover takes place and they get a new kit supplier itll help kick off a new era
Kanj
No surprise the kits looked good under Rafa. Am certain he’d have told PUMA exactly how he felt about the designs presented.
SuperFlat
Rafa is renowned for his wavy garms, for sure.
henke
I think the problem isn't necessarily with puma, it's the club who specify stickers and iron on patches. If you look at shirts puma have done for the likes of Dortmund and Arsenal over the last few years they're nowhere near as shit.
Anderson
Rafa is renowned for his wavy garms, for sure. Aye, that's a bit of a stretch mind. Most of the zany shit Puma pumped out was consistent with what they chucked out for other clubs (spike kit was definitely shared with Dortmund for one). Likewise, most their output in recent seasons has been more simple, with the exception of some trippy away kits.
Kanj
heard on a podcast somewhere that the process of even as zany as kits was under heavier scrutiny over rafa versus it being very 1 way with Puma prior....the process usually is brand sends a few designs over, there's back and forth feedback until its agreed and in the past the club didn't give a single fuck. loki679
Tbf they saved a bit of time just ccing the Puma rep on their ‘Whichever one is the cheapest’ emails to Graham Carr.
AyeDubbleYoo
I assumed we just chose whatever was the cheapest template, material, badge option etc. Imagine if we needed more than 2 colours, we'd probably have stopped making replica kits.
