Does it though?

Or is it just a load of blokes who were completely unaware he'd signed a new contract repeating he's open to it without any kind of substance, while trying to point to apparent uncertainty at the club?

He's currently with almost all of the club executives in Germany, you can absolutely guarantee it'll have been discussed and the club will be aware if he's committed or would want to talk to the FA.

Find the Klopp hate very immature

Yeah he’s an annoying opposition manager but he’s a great manager tactically and also for the club you support

He would be the outstanding candidate bar Pep

Say Howe got the job- if Newcastle then appointed Klopp would you move out the country - I’m sorry you wouldn’t

I’m not sure what maturity has to do with it. Klopp behaves in a very immature way, with the regular temper tantrums and attempts to intimidate officials and people in the media.

If Newcastle hired a character like that I wouldn’t be happy but I might swallow it, just because Newcastle means a lot more to me.

I despised Klopp as Liverpool manager but I would be tempted by him for England. If the aim is to take the game to people and press the life out of them.

Might end up a short-lived experiment though, if we don't win a trophy in the next two tournaments (which we probably won't no matter who the manager is). For this reason I expect them to appoint a sensible continuity candidate like Carsley.

I think it will be an English manager, going foreign didn't work. If the FA are prepared to pay the compensation (12-15m?) I suspect Howe might go. However both Carsley and Potter will cost zero so I expect it will be one of them.

Going English didn't really work until Southgate though.

You and everyone would absolutely, without question, lap it the fuck up.

If you can accept PIF if it means potentially being successful, you'd get over whatever dislike you have for someone infinitely less egregious and more successful in about 45 seconds.

Cannot stand Klopp but the things Id do to see him at Newcastle. Id also back him to the hilt without question when he started acting like a dick too.

He wouldn't take the job anyway so why waste our time talking him up? Far more constructive to continue despising him for at least the forseeable future.

Zidane, Henry, Trezeguet, Pires, Galas, Evra, Vieira, Makelele, Ribery, Abidal, Thuram, Djorkaeff, Karembeau, Petit, Benzema, Giroud, and you could name another 20-30.

None of the current France team would get in any France side from probably 96 onwards, with the possible exception of Kante, and i especially include specialist sprinter, Mbappe in that.

This is just nostalgia, many of those players wouldn’t be starters for the current team. Gallas, Evra, Abidal, Djorkaeff, Karembeu, Petit and Giroud were fine players in their day but nothing special and then saying there are 20-30 more is just ridiculous hyperbole.

Theo Hernandez, Saliba, Tchouameni, Maignan and Mbappe are world class, even Kounde. Griezmann is getting older but he’s had a great career. There’s also young talent like Camavinga, Zaire-Emery, Barcola waiting for their turn. Dembele, Kolo Muani and Thuram have rarely impressed in the national team but they are still playing for the biggest club sides in the world.

'Moans a bit.' Aye, that's all it is with Klopp.

As wonderful as a big win would be, and as disappointing as it is when opportunities are squandered - I don't agonise for England to win tournaments. I'm generally content in seeing us competitive and represented by people who I like and can feel pride in.

If the cost of success is Jurgen Klopp and the utter horseshit which accompanies that bloke, you can keep it.

(Again, agree that it won't happen)

That basically is it though [emoji38]. I don’t like him either and wish he’d shut up, but he hasn’t done anything truly horrible.

You don’t have to like your manager or players for that matter. England fans have been cheering on a married right-back who impregnates multiple women. Don’t think people have decided they don’t want him in their team (until now) because he’s not likeable.

I detested Klopp at Liverpool but at the same time I recognise he’s a magnificent coach and most likely would love him if he ever was a manager for my team. Would be a ridiculous coup for England but don’t think the timing works, maybe if he had resigned a season earlier.

Klopp is an absolute no brainer, agree the timing is wrong and he probably wants to stay away from the game entirely at the moment, but to suggest you wouldn't have him because we all hated him as Liverpool manager is very short sighted. Pickford for England springs to mind and Gordon when he was at Everton, pantomime villains.

Going foreign worked for England women.
