AyeDubbleYoo
Love this ‘Howe desperate not to lose the player’ angle, same with Wood. I’m sure Eddie doesn’t mind at all when players that are twice as good as the previous ones land in his lap. Dare to dream that we’re close to getting a midfielder? SUPERTOON
Shelvey being 2 games away from triggering a new deal will be key to this getting done imo.
Jaqen
Wonder what the Forest wage bill is? It's got to be higher than ours?
Chicane
Forest INCREASED Wood's wages?! Wasn't it said he was on 100k here? Madness

Obviously trust Ashworth and Howe etc. Think that's kind of the point to be honest, our squad has moved on from Shelvey being the deep quarter back role that he used to play, especially given Schar and Botman can play them same sort of balls with equal success. Shelvey's biggest limitation is that he's not the most athletic, and can't really press in the way we'd need him too, which is really important in the way we play under Howe. He's also been injured all season, so not only are you removing him and his wages, you're also not really losing anything in an active player, and allowing yourself to reuse them funds. Now if we get say Gallagher, you get a Longstaff replacement, who can do everything he can do defensively, but with better distribution, passing and shoot ability. Think it's a really smart piece of business tbh.
Hanshithispantz
I like Shelvey but the thought of replacing him is erection inducing
The Prophet
With Botman and Schar, we no longer require an unathletic player who simply sits on front of the back four and sprays passes about.

Big Geordie
Good signing for Forest if he goes. He's served us well during difficult years.

TRon
This is fabulous. I mean the timing's not great, but we do need to clear the decks and get surplus players off the wage bill. Forest are doing us a solid.
Superior Acuña
Feel it's a shame it ending now with him being out injured so long. I think he could still do a job as a squad player - he's gotten some stick but he's been important for us over the years, from promotion to that pivotal Leeds goal. Definitely be wishing him well. Makes total sense to sell though of course.

MagMal
Good, don't like him and as others have said his attitude is shocking, was happy to coast along under shit managers when he was supposed to be one of our main men, he should have put the effort in then not just waiting until Eddie and to an extent Rafa turned up. I don't even think his passing is that good and that is supposed to be his thing. Taxi for shelvey

AyeDubbleYoo
I’ve warmed to Jonjo recently but let’s face it, he’s strictly a bottom half player. Admire him for putting in the work under Howe though. Hope he does well at Forest if he goes. Edited January 29, 2023 by AyeDubbleYoo
cubaricho
Had a big hand in our turnaround last season and was one of the first to buy into Howe and his team, starting the revolution. I’ll always remember him fondly just for that alone. Edited January 29, 2023 by cubaricho

SiLvOR
Never really loved him. Pissed me off a lot more often than not, but perhaps I'm still thinking back with the shit stained Ashley goggles on. Wish him well, and hope we have a replacement lined up in the way of Maddison or Gallagher. (I also slagged Gallagher off big time when we played them at SJP, but he's way more dynamic than Shelvey which is what I expect us to be looking for.) Facundo Ferreyra
How many fucking players do Forest want? Honestly feels like they could register a totally different 25 man squad for the second half of the season.
