Bimpy474
They want £2m loan fee and £13m on top of that to buy. Let him stay at Palace. There's no guarantee he will be able to replicate his form of last year anyway. £15m altogether with the prices the way they are right now is a steal, he's talented and perfect for Rafa's 4-2-3-1. TRon
I think Palace will compromise. We'll probably still get promoted regardless if it doesn't go through, they'll have an unhappy player on their hands instead of potentially £13m.

Hanshithispantz
If Palace want to be dicks then let them. Just keep it in mind the next time they want to loan a player from us (if they ever do). We need another winger and all things considered £15m for Townsend is great business for us at the minute. Fucking about to try and get him for £13-14m just seems like another uneccisary risk given he's our only target (the other risk being that he's our only target to begin with). If it was the start of summer I'd understand us not stumping up the cash straight away but we need to get the deal done or go into the final half of the season with Gouffran still on the wing. I wouldn't say it's a steal but it would likely ensure promotion so it's certainly worth paying a bit of a premium to get it done.
Theregulars
I mean yeh if this means a total £15m they can fuck off. Giving them a full rebate is more than enough.

It's bloody cheap with the madness going on right now. Personally i think anything for any player over £5m is nuts, the way the world is anyhoo. xLiaaamx
Aye let's pua hardball them for the sake of £2m. Vintage Newcastle, in the words of Michael Cole.
Bimpy474
Thinks it's as much as them as it is us playing hardball for the £2m like.
Ryan
Just need to bite the bullet and pay it unfortunately. If we get Townsend in it massively improves a chances of going up in which we'll then gain a ton of money anyway.
Menace
I must be one of a few that don't want him back. He fucked off without even thinking about it, why should he come back as if nothing happened.
Foluwashola
Negotiations innit. Bit of a joke if we're basically for his wages while he was there as well as giving them a refund, not that I care.

Guest reefatoon
Fat Sam will be wanting an extra turret built on his castle that Ashley paid for, hence the extra 2 Mil.

Jokes aside it wouldn't surprise me at all if Ashley was haggling on this because Allardyce made a fool of him about that house.

Guest
I bet Ashley thinks sacking Allardyce was the biggest mistake he's ever made as owner here.
TRon
I bet Ashley thinks sacking Allardyce was the biggest mistake he's ever made as owner here. I don't see why. He's been sacked by West Ham and England since then. His reputation is as a relegation specialist, that pretty much tells you all you need to know about his standing in the game. He's never been relegated from the PL I presume he means escaping relegation and by this you know he's a shit manager because he's always in and around the relegation zone.
