From some Italian newspaper:

It's stated that there is a clause in the deal where, if Doumbia plays ten matches, Newcastle are contractually obliged to purchase the pacey striker for €22m (£17.4m)

£17.4m

Going down as one of the worst bits of business in recent history. Even by our standards.

Magpies loan forward Seydou Doumbia has walked out on the Ivory Coast national squad following an  argument with coach Michel Dussuyer.

The player was confined to the substitute's bench for Friday's 1-0 home win over Sudan before reportedly questioning Dussuyer's authority and going AWOL.

The Elephants squad that travelled to Sudan for a 1-1 draw on Tuesday didn't then include Doumbia and he's now presumably en route back to Tyneside.
