Grayson got something out of McGeady last year when most thought he was done, he's probably thinking he can do the same with McCormack, it's a unecessary risk for Villa iyam. So he'll not be able to play against Villa, but will be able to play against all of Villa competitors for promotion. Villa wont look at the mackems as one of those promotion chasing teams (as nobody does), therefore it is win-win for Villa. They'll then be able to shift him for a better fee next season, if he has a good year. If not then they've lost nothing extra than they already have and will have saved a few quid on his wages.
