Cheshire Mag
Imagine if Staveley went and took this lot on I wouldn't joke about it! Who says I’m joking........
xLiaaamx
And do what exactly? Just because RTG claim they're primed for a revolution doesn't make it so.
xLiaaamx
Much more likely that at this low price someone who wants a lower league club with no interest in going up will take them on.

Figures 1-0 Football
Which mad b****** will take on 137 million in debt and inherit a shocking team with over paid players languishing at the bottom of the championship. Read earlier that clubs in L1 get £1m in centralized money, compared to the ~£100m they got from the prem for finishing last. Clubs in L1 are also only allowed a wage bill that is a maximum of 60% of their turnover. If they go down they’d effectively have to sell half of their team and start again. If they cant find buyers for players, they’ll have to pay up their contracts which will eat up their already minimal transfer budget.
Geordie Ahmed
Forgive me for being naive.. How exactly have they amassed so much debt? Like what the hell have they spent it on? Can get my head around how they've spunked away all the money that came in whilst they we're in the PL, but to then think 'oh, we spent all those millions so smartly, we need go and find more' is a bit baffling. What they hell have they been spending their money on? Lots of rubbish players on daft wages, also repeatedly sacking managers to get a short term results boost (especially for the derby) which the fans lapped up They don't make enough money from the "massive lads fans" and they just wasted the one big income they got (TV money) and now that's gone it's just a massive mess
Guest Hog
"The debts could be as much as £100m" - BBC radio Newcastle It said nearer to £130m debt on the clip I heard, free to a good home mind.
Big Geordie
These lot are absolutely completely utterly fucked like. Administration is definitely coming. Yup - could another creditor or the bank pull the plug?
Guest Howaythetoon
I have a few mates who are good mates who are genuine SAFC fans and I feel their pain, but fuck it, they are a shit stain on the NE and English football, as a club, as a city and as people. Guest Howaythetoon
That's probably the most extreme example of Hate Newcastle> Love Sunderland that I've ever heard of like. Are you absolutely sure that that's what they mean? That's utterly mental. Yep, we talked about it specifically. Not that they're in any way linked obviously, but he was sure he would take that scenario. No offence, but I seriously couldn’t associate with anyone so stupid in mindset. I’d disown the cunts. Guest
I hope they do a Sheff Utd. Bugger off for 7-8 years, let us get stronger so when they return the derbies are more like the 2000s.
David Icke - Son of God
Administration can't be far off for them. Short seems to be on a mission to just get rid of them by any means necessary.
Guest chopey
Administration is a long long way off for them, the company that owns their debt wont let that happen until everything is sold.
geordie_b
You might get the club for free but you would still have to keep paying for s*** like Cattermole until 2021
Guest Howaythetoon
If they go down, I think they will be down there for a while. Crowds will decrease even more and the team will be filled with journeymen league two and one players managed by similar. It will be. Long road back for them. Disco
Administration is a long long way off for them, the company that owns their debt wont let that happen until everything is sold. Short owns one of the companies that they owe £60m too. It's the other one that is the issue.

I dunno man, the quality of L1 is beyond dreadful, just look at how the teams at the top struggled so badly in the champo last year. Wigan, Blackburn and Rotherham. I would expect them to bounce straight back up next year if they drop this year.

Heron
We should start off loads of random rumours about how Sunderland are trying to penny pinch and tweet them. The club would get well pissed off denying them

Guest reefatoon
We should start off loads of random rumours about how Sunderland are trying to penny pinch and tweet them. The club would get well p*ssed off denying them They can’t afford to pay for police presence at games and have been telling the powers that be that they can police games themselves and they don’t need the amount of officers generally needed. They must be giving stewards honorary sheriff badges. The police force have told them that if they don’t get paid they won’t be doing it for free.
