The College Dropout
I do agree. I just think 4 points and there's still a decent chance we stay up but it will go to the wire. 6 I can see us pulling away. Definitely agree it's the 2nd and 3rd games we really need the points. AyeDubbleYoo
Impossible to predict anything until we see the Rafa effect really. On previous performances I would expect maybe 1 point from the next 3 games.

Disco
People are talking about winning 5 in 10, when the team has won 6 league games all season... I'm pretty sure the morale surge alone of signing Benítez will do a lot, but I'm really afraid that it will be too late. And IT WILL SUCK. We won't win 5 in 10 but we probably won't need too. Win the derby & Norwich and then all we need to do is match their results. Could just be two wins to stay up, we don't know. The only thing is a given that all 3 teams are totally shite. Lush Vlad
I think the majority of NUFC fans think this is probably too late, we were definitely down under McClaren, we might not go down now. That's good enough for me Agreed. Rafa gives us a fighting chance and gives the fans a bit of hope. I was convinced we were down under McClaren and I didn't see where our next win was coming from. Collage
Jinx alert. I'm actually confident we'll win the derby, we have better players and should've won the game at their place. Rafa arriving has given the club a boost and he'll have us organised, i.e. have us look like a team, I'm sure.
Norseman
Being realistic, i'd be delighted with a point tonight. That would be progress Gonna fistpump myself to sleep if we get a point tonight. It's so strange caring about a game again and being excited about it. Hope the players feel the same buzz

I'm pretty sure the morale surge alone of signing Benítez will do a lot, but I'm really afraid that it will be too late. And IT WILL SUCK. I'm preparing for possibly the greatest vertical drop on the emotional roller coaster we've ever had to experience. Still, while obviously tinged with an almost overwhelming shadow of relegation, and him buggering of before any sort of project even starts... it's nice to dream. I'm probably going to be more anxious about your run-in than ours, makes me feel weird So much of the anxiety could dissolve away simply on how we look tonight. Not winning (that would be way too much for a dickie heart), just looking like a group that can be dangerous, and could win sooner rather than later. I'm absolutely shitting it. i posted this in he pre-match thread, but solidarity bruthah! http://cdn.meme.am/instances/500x/55580068.jpg http://fly-13d6.kxcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/9266587.gif
merlin
We have added pressure to stay up now, following yesterday's result at the Emirates ; Arsenal going out of the Cup and, to all intents and purposes, fading from a PL championship challenge may just be the nudge their board need to bring Wenger's time as manager to an end, esp as Spurs are going so well. I need hardly tell anyone who the prime candidate would be to replace him should we fail to stay up and should Ashley/Charnley start backing down on transfer commitments even if we DO survive....... And it won't be Allardyce...! Tonight's game just became far more important....

Yep, can't help but think glass half full at this point. I've got all the faith in the world that he'll make us more tactically astute - after that it's a question of motivating. By all accounts that already looks promising. Four points from the next two games and I think we'll stay up.
bowlingcrofty
Palace, Swansea, Norwich and Villa and dare I say it the Mackems are the teams we should be looking to win against. Anything against Leicester or Southampton would be a bonus. Have written off the Citeh, Liverpool and Spurs games. Why write off those games? Spurs could well have nothing to play for by then and we beat them at WHL? Man City could have nothing to play for in the PL (2 away wins since xmas) and also have CL commitments. They were woeful against Norwich. We play Liverpool 4 days before a potential Europa League semi final which is their only route to CL football next year. I fully expect us to lose all three but football has a habit of surprising you.
Elma
A point tonight would be amazing - whatever happens we then need a minimum of four points from the next two. Ideally 3 against the mackems and minimum draw against Norwich. Get that and I can see the momentum taking us over the line. Less than that and it will be a struggle. I would hope we could beat an already relegated Villa on the second last game, and I would be disappointed if we lose to City, what with their poor-ish away form and them focussing on the Champions League. Wouldn't want to have to get anything from Spurs on the last day, but then both the mackems and and Noriwch have tricky away games, albeit against sides with nothing to play for. astraguy
From theses 10 games we need the team to play like they did vs Man utd (a) Arsenal (h) until the red card Norwich (h) Mackems again until the red etc etc if Rafa can match that or better we will be fucking flying

Chicken Dancer
We have to stay up like. We will never have a manager of this quality again, stay up and the summer will be the most optimistic I have been for a long, long time.

Anything against Leicester or Southampton would be a bonus. Have written off the Citeh, Liverpool and Spurs games. City and Spurs are likely to be dead rubbers when they come around. They are exactly the sort of games where a team in the bottom 4 or 5 pick up random wins against the top 4. For me its only Southampton that we are nailed on to get zip from, every other game has potential for at least a point if we apprach them right. Not including Leicester in the zip's as god only knows how we'll turn up tonight. A point will be a massive bonus though

mouldy_uk
I'm nervous and buzzing about tonight. I don't expect a win, but a half decent performance is a must. Really need something to build on for the derby.

I fully expect us to lose all three but football has a habit of surprising you. The trouble is that the same also applied to Sunderland and Norwich. I don't know their fixtures only that both supposedly have a harder run-in compared to us. But if those games are against teams that have nothing to play for or are resting players for cup games, there will be unpredictable results amongst them. And the usual top teams have been pretty rubbish this year anyway. I am also hoping that Palace get carried away with their cup run and continue to lose league games so they get dragged into it. Nowadays you need to play the right football to get those jobs unless you're uber successful.
The College Dropout
If the players can pick up Rafa's ideas quick enough - we will stay up. I hope we look like a real team tonight. Points would be great but it's next week...
