Rafael Benitez

Really pleased with this appointment but I keep feeling like we are like a plane coming in to land that has passed the safe "go around" level and is doomed.

Aside from that I'm proper positive.

Massively heartened by the appointment and have watched his little interview a couple of times now. Was struck by the contrast of him and McClaren, the positivity, the organisation, the plan, the goals and the knowhow to get the job done. No bullshit, no spin, no waffle. After hearing him, a proper manager, speak about the club, the fans and the players it's no the wonder the players simply weren't responding to McClaren - utter fraud (nice guy) but an utter fraud and they clearly had no belief in him or his message. I think they'll respond to Benitez. I'm not buzzing yet because we're still very much in the shit but we're looking up now and we've finally got a bloke in charge who can get shit done.

:bluf:

Fat Spanish waiter. Really can't get excited about this until Ashley fucks off forever.

How's that chip on your shoulder.

Realise it sounds daft me saying that given Rafa's credentials but I've just had such a gut full of Ashley that I don't believe he won't find some way to turn this into yet another shitfest.

No point worrying about something that might not happen.

I respect him for having the belief in his own abilities that he thinks he can do something at NUFC. He's not walking into a club with a ready made top 4 squad which seem to be the only jobs other top quality managers will consider. He's got a real challenge here but he can also make a real difference.

Don't think it'll take a minor miracle. Under McClaren, sure, we were doomed - it was over. Under Benitez, I look at it as being one point from safety. We're certainly not adrift, there's just not many teams to pull into the mire.

It's so excited to be engaged in the club again and actually look forward to a game.

Not only has the club got a lift but this place has as well, can't wait to get into some actual football discussion instead of calling the manager and players a set of cunts.

This may well be the switch that flicks me right back into it again. Yesterday I couldn't have given a fuck, today I care again, if we stay up and Benitez stays and is backed in the market again then I'll get myself and the boy a ST next season. I needed a reason and Benitez is it. :)

Great to hear mate, will be so fucking wierd reading none angry posts from you though[emoji38]

I wanted McClaren to be successful and I'd heard all about what a good coach he was and when he brought his own guys in I was hopeful he could build something but it quickly dissolved. It was clear he never had the presence or the plan to make a decent fist of it here despite having £80m worth of players bought for him. He failed miserably, he's not the first and he certainly won't be the last to fail here but he failed never the less.

It's totally exciting. With Ashley, though, there always is that sense of waiting for the other shoe to drop. I'm going to try to put that out of mind for as long as I can.

This.

Why is our website such a piece of shit on mobile devices? Can't view any of the Rafa porn.

Download Puffin Browser fella. Just done it myself, worked like a charm.

Watch it. Be inspired, then immediately uninstall that heap of shit.

(Puffin Browser, not Wor Rafa)

Rafa, like KK, is a proper football man - he won't get bullied and take any crap from the board or get pushed around. Still buzzing - he just inspires.

Read that Mirror piece I posted, reads like he will more than hold his own.
