nemtizz
Would probably try and stab Colback, what with him hating gays and all that, so there's one positive. Mole_Toonfan
Mail saying Everton want £20mil for McCarthy and we want to pair him alongside Cairney http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4525524/Everton-willing-sell-20m-midfielder-James-McCarthy.html Some depth in midfield at long last would be great, it's been a problem for a while. Pilko
Demairi Gray would be a fucking class signing at £12m. Hope there's something in that.
Leazes_End_Mag
Is Andre Gray really that much of an improvement on Gayle, if at all?
Seymour
Is Andre Gray really that much of an improvement on Gayle, if at all? This is the worry for me, maybe a pipedream but i'd much rather pay that extra 10m on someone like Sturridge
Billy2Sheds
I think he's better than Gayle. We need to strengthen everywhere, and he'd be a good buy at the right price.

Seymour
I don't want Sturridge! (very good player though) He hasn't been injured that much this season though as he? Its more him not getting picked

I wasn't sold on Cairney, but if he had someone like McCarthy alongside he would probably look a lot better. So would Shelvey mind.

Its more him not getting picked Maybe you're right, but at the same time maybe that's the reason he hasn't been injured as much. I just think he'd be a bit too big of a risk for 20-25m or whatever. Seymour
He hasn't been playing as a number 10 this season for Fulham mind https://www.whoscored.com/Players/79583/Show/Tom-Cairney Played the majority of the games as an attacking midfielder Scored 8 goals and 9 assists in that position
joeyt
In every game I've watched this season of Fulham (including the game against us and the games they've just played against Reading) Cairney plays as a centre mid and Johansen plays as the attacking midfielder
joeyt
That WhoScored website says that Cairney played as the attacking mid against us at SJP which he definitely didn't so I think their stats are wrong on that
Seymour
https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tom-cairney/leistungsdaten/spieler/123275 Transfermarkt are also saying the same mind
Hanshithispantz
Cairney's played a fairly free role whenever I've seen him (I never saw the game at SJP like), when Jonansen is ahead of him they often seem to switch, but he did (does?) start behind him. Always thought he looked like a Lallana type who would be comfortable anywhere across midfield.
TRon
I think no 10 or no 8 doesn't mean that much these days. It's about balance in the side, and if you had McCarthy in there, you could probably afford to pick Cairney and Shelvey in the same side, especially if your striker is someone like Gayle or better.
