Euro 2016 trouble - Russia handed suspended disqualification by UEFA

That is true, but its our fans and get blindly drunk and then are not in control of their reactions.

I hope they throw the book at both England and Russia.

Didn't our fans do the same while away in the UEFA when we played Brugge? Should something have happened to us or does it only apply to England and Russia?

Aye and despite our fans being blindly drunk and out of control they caused almost 0 issue. 2,000 tickets and 6,000 there.

The year before Birmingham took the same and they all had tickets yet allegedly they smashed the place up.

Not sure what point I'm making by this like [emoji38]

Meh, it's football. We spend 90 minutes calling each other all the names under the sun. Booing the national anthem ain't a big deal.

I disagree.

Good talk.

Didn't think that it would be needed to explain in detail why it's a lack of respect booing during the national anthems of other teams. If it's one time where we should respect other teams and countries when it comes to football then it's during the national anthems imo. Can't really be bothered explaining something that imo should be so obvious, even though some might not agree with it

I mean, wouldn't do it personally as booing generally is pathetic. But if you've spent the day surrounded by Russians going radge, booing of a national anthem isn't too big of a crime.

Aye. That's kinda understandable tbh. For me you just make sure you outsing them when it's your turn.

I think everyone is aware it's a minority yet it's always a group of our lot involved. I'm under no illusions that it wasn't largely provoked, it was clear when you saw Russian 'firms' (aka c*** club members) practically in their own uniforms. Yet you still can't ignore the IRA/10 German bombers stuff and go well it isn't everybody. Same as it wasn't every Russian there. There's no anti-English agenda

And

The songs England fans were singing did not provoke anyone. The songs did not incite any of the violence in France. Completely irrelevent in this situation.

Singing about ISIS in France not the greatest idea they've ever had.

I have no idea about the nuance of this particular situation other than England fans are involved again. It's not a case by case problem. I've heard enough of the chants filmed to know it's likely a very vocal minority singing very provocative songs such as 'we're racist'. It seems the Russians involved were intent on it kicking off whatever happened so I'm not blinkered by some sanctimonious preconception. There certainly seems to be a weak control by the authorities/associations involved too.
